I called up PTPTN staff just now and guess what.
They said now no need to open SSPN acc anymore. It's already "dimansuhkan".

Short sleeve is ok, but the stripes thingy... I am not very sure.
My suggestion is bring a few sets of formal clothes that include both short sleeve and long sleeve. It is said that we must wear formal clothes during the orientation week. As I seen in other forum, the USM seniors said one must bring one white long-sleeve formal shirt for Majlis Pembukaan.

As for the sport shoes... I don't think it will match quite well with the formal clothing. Just bring a pair of comfortable 'formal' shoe would be a better suggestion.

Ya, have to open BIMB on our own. Is it the incentive mentioned in panduan you are talking about? The RM1300 for science students, RM1000 for...
That one will be given to certain students upon registration.

It's confirmed that USM students MUST take their own effort to open BIMB acc.

This is one of the changes our APEX uni made after it became the first APEX uni in Malaysia.

2)You also mentioned that USM is not on the list at PTPTN website any more
3)A few students called to USM and the pegawai asked them to open BIMB on their own

Bil yuran individu bagi setiap pelajar yang ditawarkan tempat ke Universiti Sains Malaysia akan dipaparkan di laman web ini mulai 19 Jun 2009. Sebaik sahaja pelajar boleh mengakses maklumat tersebut, bayaran boleh dibuat menggunakan mod pembayaran yang telah disediakan iaitu :

1. Bayaran tunai di kaunter semua cawangan Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB).
2. Pembayaran bil melalui Internet Banking (khas untuk pemegang akaun perbankan internet BIMB) melalui www.bankislam.biz .
3. Penggunaan kemudahan ePayment USM bagi pengguna kad kredit.

Selain daripada itu, pelajar yang bercadang untuk mendapatkan pinjaman PTPTN adalah digalakkan untuk membuka akaun di Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB).

You can take rapid penang from main campus to sg dua. It's only cost RM 1.40 and takes around 10-15 minutes.
As inside the campus, yes! There'll be shuttle bus service, operating from 7.30 am to 10 pm(Mon - Fri) and 7.30 am to around 7 pm(Sat). No bus service for Sunday and public holidays though. And NO bus during the orientation week.

USM has its own health facilities. According to last year, one don't have to do medical checkup beforehand but do it inside campus. If not mistaken, it will be in orientation week.
