Hello guys & girls, did anyone get the interview? In what course?

I got shortlisted for mass comm @ 2nd May, 8.30am (to reach USM from across the bridge in time I wonder how early have to wake up? ) and am finding for course/fellow-uni buddies (so as not to feel too lonely there, lol)

Thanks...I got family in bukit mertajam, going there one day before. lol, on the plus side get to enjoy bridge scenery xD

haha thank you seniors for all the replies! looks like there's a crowd in bm town got cousin fetching me on the way to work (also on the island). really hope the interviewers are friendly...

lol, say only gonna meet seniors, but in reality i'm quite shy when in a unfamiliar place. coupled with pre-interview nerves, if some seniors walk past me i prob won't go up and say hi...best can do is smile (rather nervously) only~

haha thank you...sorry I saw your post late...hmm since you're a dude I can tell you that the interview candidates was about 80-85% female . Guys not many so can't compare la...as for the seniors, didn't manage to see them so not sure.

anyway, I've blogged about my experiences so that anyone who is going for the interview in the future can get a general idea about how it's like + learn from the silly mistakes that I made

hi I'm also entering USM in sept for mass comm and have a question regarding laptops (it's rather urgent as my dad wants to buy it like ASAP for reasons that I'm unsure of - good offer maybe?)

He wants to get the Dell Inspiron 15 (N5050) for me, I think it's OK except 1 thing - It's 2.5kg. I was envisioning a 3-4 lbs 13-inch or something lighter. Would it be burdensome carrying 2.5kg of laptop around (as i heard usm campus very big, need to do a lot of walking one)?

should have i think...many people from peninsula kena post at the sabah/sarawak uni so maybe the sabah/sarawak students kena exchange here xD you should be entitled to the rm100 flight imbursement too.

Hey it seems that we (the new batch this year) can check which hostel we got from the pohon@usm website...the surat tawaran got state. I got Restu haha...got this info from the usm intake group on FB

tekun and restu almost same standard one...both newer than the other hostels (along with saujana) and in the same area but have to travel a bit to campus. (and I just found a potential busmate for mass comm - we all take bus at the same place one )

as weird as this sounds, i don't have & haven't made any new KL friends going to USM

those i know through online din get RST also. IK, Fajar got...

lol, maybe we were not supposed to know, so when the usm staff found out we knew our rooms they quickly disable the information~

too late though, quite a lot of ppl (especially in the fb group) found roommate d. lol

hmm i'm curious, how many first years are lurking around in lowyat? so far only few le... was wondering if should open a thread just for AY2012/13, haha

USM first years this year, haha. There are few official and unofficial groups for it in FB but their members all mostly one race only...I want 1Malaysia one (e.g) like USM info sharing corner xD

Yup I've notices other unis are V2, V3 but there's only 1 thread for USM.

In that case I'll see of can start official V2 or not. If really started d, then how do I request the mods to close this thread?
