1. this one u need to ask your seniors. different schools, different style. different lecturers, different style as well. in my school, assignments means homework, if u're refering to the previous education system(primary, seconday school) for major subject(studio-5 unit), almost every week got assignments, average 3 assignments per week, sometimes it goes up to 6,

2. seniors will pass down their notes to u. i'll only take down notes if i dont have the notes for that particular subject. nowadays, students dont use pen and paper already, all using camera.

i stayed in bakti(girl's hostel) before and i had been to fajar, so i woudnt say that it is the most comfortable since it is the newest hostel. not sure about the others (IK,CG, Aman), but indeed RST is comfortable, bakti is also not bad, while fajar is a bit old.(IK seems nice as well) nevertheless, all are good and better than my last hostel when i was in matric. RST is situated outside of the campus, for me, i'm already used to it, so not really far for me.

Erm, if i'm not mistaken, pimpin siswa is actually the name of the camping program. U dont have to be in formal attire when u are in the camp. The white shirt is actually meant for your orientation week. The shirt itself(stripes, colours) doesnt matter, it's not necessary for u to get all white shirts, but u must have at least one.

yup, smart casual will do, long pants with shoes and a collar t shirt. i think u can bring your colour pencils, crayon, water colour, and prepare some stationary, like set square, papers for your assignments. u dont have to bring them all, as u could get them easily from some of the stationary shops outside of usm. syllabus for the coming sem(your batch), will probably be a bit different, so i cant really give you the most accurate information.

yes, this is the dress code. but u can still wear shirts without collar, at your own risk. usm so big, got so many schools, different schools have different dress code and some schools are quite lenient but some aren't.

what do u mean by 70% course work? studio has no exam, 100% course work. other subjects, 60% exam and 40% course work. last time, during 1st sem, yes, lots of art work, we did assignments which are not related to our studies. we used bamboo to make different things like sound tool, dome, and 2012 craft, we made masks using clay and paper, got involve in acting, merdeka celebration and so on. more based on art work only during sem 1. for this coming sem, the syllabus might be different because our beloved studio master had passed away.

sry but i dont get u. what i can say is, u will be pretty busy with assignments throughout the whole sem. every week will have at least 1 assignment.

during 1st year sem 1, everyone will be doing the same thing.

yes, cm has lots of malay. i dont think u can change from cm to archi, coz it's hard to change from non design stream to design stream. unless u are very talented in art work. cm is more on managing, how u manage and keep everything(construction progress) in flow, notify the others what to do, check the timeline and so on.
