yes, but as far as i remember, they dont really care about your attire but it's still better to be in formal. for me, i have 3 sets (must prepare 1 long sleeves white shirt) since i'm used to washing my clothes everyday last time when i was in matric. btw, prepare some sports wear as well.

because there'll be some activities for u all, like senam robik. at the same time, u all will be practising some yell(something like scout's yell) under the guidance of your seniors according to your hostel(you'll be divided according to your hostel). then, u'll be competing against each other(different hostels). those with the loudest yell will win. last year, all this happened during the senam robik session.

after your orientation, some of u will attend the pimpin siswa programme during the weekend(fri-sun). not all will be going at the same time, some will go during the orientation week, some on the 2nd week, and 3rd week. so, for those in the 1st batch during the orientation week, u'll need to have the necessary clothes and items.

btw, it is ok if u want to wear short pants but most people will be wearing long pants, a bit awkward if u are in short pants.

erm, for me, it would be better to bring more. make sure u have enough of clothes for the pimpin siswa programme.

1. no worries, most of clubs will have lots of activities, so organised your time properly.
2.classes and lectures start after your orientation week.( 2nd week)
3.zzz, clothes, shoes, stationary, towel, pail, and etc . try to think what u'll do everyday and prepare the items required. u can bring along your laptop, just make sure u keep it safe. for me, without a laptop, i'll be having problems with my assignments.
4.u cannot pick the hostel and the room.

not sure, probably not. u can ask your felo. all 1st year students have to stay in the hostels. u can stay at home if u want to, no one cares about that, but u cant get back the money that u had paid.( everything are included in the fees u are going to pay later on)

i see. if that is the case i'm not really sure, mayb u can start from level 2 or level 3. but it's still better to ask at the language department. no need to learn outside of the campus la, just register for the course. but make sure u ask 1st since u have been learning japanese.
