wow.. sorry i'm noob in this thread.. i never thought "UTM" will be discussed in LYN.. but this proves that i'm wrong.. i guess everybody is proud from what fac or course he/she is studying.. well i was from UTM ... land survey (geomatic eng) from fakulti geoinformasi graduated 2003
feel so jealous to read current students are enjoying wifi and easy internet access in utm.. siap kutuk lagi when wifi goes down LOL .. during my time, after finished my class, immediately rushed to CC, online mIRC and mengorat chickiesss!! ... "hi... a/s/l please" ... then balik rumah sewa till 3am... fuhh.. i love UTM so much!! it is the best study-life compared to my primary n secondary schools
good luck in your study guyz.. always keep toyol with u kidding
Added on January 7, 2009, 12:26 amahh.. before i forget.. i composed this video during my study time in utm using Pinnacle .. i think it was year 2002.. i dedicate this video to all ex-UTM students especially my ex-coursemates SGU 1999/2003

wifiUTM may suck.
but wired services are damn fast. last night i downloaded a bunch of files on rapidshare at 1200kbps. i kid u not . i shall screen capture the next time i get anything higher than 1000kbps, just to show off.
i guess u're not a student in UTM.. might be lecturer or RA .. coz no student can easily has access to a campus PC and download RS.. my friend (lecturer) in UTM oso told me about the high-speed download using wired access.. all movies are downloaded within minutes!! which fac are u from?

i have wired service in FAB. all architecture students were given wired networks in the studios since 2002 accessible to them. but nowadays people use wireless bcoz of mobility. i dunno much about how networks work, but i have a very fast line, especially at night.
and yes, i'm a lecturer and i'm using wired network in my office.
sorry for my poor memory.. i used to hang around in FAB studio downloading stuffs.. just few paces from my fac FAB is very advance in providing internet for their students.. whereas my fac is far left behind.. and FAB chickies are hot too.. i admired few of them but always broken hearted when eventually saw them dating rich boy students.. driving satria GTi, Honda etc..
Good luck whether u're student or "tenaga pengajar"

aha.. one more thing that i envy bout fab.. they always have trips around m'sia.. sometimes outside m'sia.. the purpose konon2 visiting archi buildings, heritage etc.. the rest of visits are shopping, touring, flirting.. both archi n qs always got trips... envy like hell! hehe but for muslim non-fab students, pay a visit to fab's surau.. very harmony.. got fountain.. with some sweet deco.. more khusyuk when praying haha
to look for chickies who absolutely can accept u, no matter what kereta buruk are u driving, what kapchai are u riding, go to Fak Pendidikan.. there are more girls than boys there.. they all sweet ladies.. grab fast! take how many u like.. campus life is where ur life is free.. can pasang few gf around u.. coz when start working, can focus on 1 girl oni.. coz has to start to think bout marriage, kids etc
i guess thats some advice for 1st year student .. more on encouraging to be playboy lol
i guess u really study very hard to score few subjects and purposely failed few subjects to get the 3.00 sharp!! LOL

Oh damned.. if no lecturers wanna go there, then means bad lecturers only go there ke?
LOLLLL ... is there any bad lecturer around? i thought all lecturers are good.. tenaga pengajar yang membakar diri menerangi kegelapan pelajar² ... they all like angel

I am asking a noob question here but please answer me T_T After 3 years of diploma, am I going to the degree for sure? or I stand a chance being kicked out? I heard of something called credit transfer and I heard if qualify for that I can enter 2nd year of degree after diploma, can anyone tell me in detail? Thanks.
Syukri>> Thanks! I hope at 28th June can see you there =)
u can further ur degree after diploma only if u exceed certain cgpa.. i'm not really sure whats the cgpa figure.. but during my time in UTM, there were dozens of diploma students join my degree class starting from 3rd year until 4th year (final year) ... so they just studied for 2 years only for a degree.. these students are called "direct-intake students" ... most of them were directly further study after diploma and some were working for few years before further their degree...
so i had different age range of students in my class.. the eldest student was 43 years old.. got 2 kids.. and he talked about sex all the time.. and my batch (direct from SPM) was the youngest .. we were 20 years old during that time and we enjoyed to listen to those pakcik² talked about porno.. LOL

I graduated with less than 2.5 gpa (but still 2nd lower lah), from FKE. Fooled around too much in uni, and realised it a bit too late to get it fixed. But really, at the end of the day, those who work hard will eventually get what they want. Even though it was a rather bad fall, I managed to pick myself up, dust myself off and today after less than 3 years working I've snagged a job I like, with a salary more than double what I'd earned when I'd first graduated and more or less stable (or at least definitely heading there) life.
Yes, grades are important, but what's most important is what you actually learn, because at the end of the day that is what will save you. You can have a 3.9 GPA and snag a good job after graduation, but if that 3.9 was merely based on memorizing "target" questions and formulae (or hiring someone to do your final project), then maintaining success will definitely need much effort. And don't give up if you graduated with a low CGPA, all is definitely not lost!
i'm 200% agree with u.. my classmate got Dean List and graduated with 3.8 but he got sacked in his 1st year at work.. he was lack in communicating with ppl.. or i can say PR.. dont just sit in front of books and study all the time.. go out and make friends.. play sports, go clubbing, go flirting.. enjoy ur life and u will gain ur experience through all that

Serious?i mean about the mosque.
Is it possible for 1st year student to bring their own vehicle?I mean give some duit kopi to the guard or something.
Im really urgent to bring mine but my hostel prohibited a vehicle from student 1st year.
hmm.. i feel guilty to critic a mosque ... but the mosque looks uzur to occupy hundreds of prayers.. ppl all over Jln Gurney, Felda, etc pray there... Syukri, i dun think u can easily get to stay in UTM KL insider hostel (correct me if i'm wrong) ... your hostel probably in Kg. Baru or somewhere near which are few KMs from campus.. so you dun have to worry about the UTMKL mosque as u can pray in other mosque near ur hostel..
about the vehicle, its prohibited to bring any transport as a 1st year student.. but rules are made to be broken!! pandai² la.. macam tak pernah buat salah kat skolah dulu

its not easy to break rules when you discuss your plans here where we also have UTM lecturers to give "buah pendapat" together.. so those fresh archi students, beware!! plan ur rules-breakings through Pms

My last resort will be PTPTN if i cant get any scholarship...T.T
avoid PTPTN as u can.. coz by the time u graduate, u already have debt to pay.. if your course is 3years, i guess u have to pay approx. Rm150 monthly... i assume ur starting salary is around Rm1500.. of course u're going to buy car (pay car loan), house rent, girls, clubbing etc.. u're KLian, accommodation and food already free maaaa... why want PTPTN some more?
QUOTE(MyKy44 @ May 6 2009, 01:16 AM)
^eh tapi kalo kat UM, diorang provide food tau (tapi kena bayar ah, dah masuk dalam fees skali)
that kinda system is really not worth.. u have to pay the food included with the hostel fees but the food sucksss big time!! better buy your own food, u can eat KFC or McD anytime u want..
