Oh, and to those UTM diploma guys worrying about their future, dont worry. What i can tell you is UTM skudai will accept almost all of you into your respective courses. Unless, of course, you did not select UTM as your 1st choice, or your CGPA is way too low. i would suggest you maintain 3.50 and above. And FYI 4 flat is NOT only for nerds. I am not a nerd, and i got almost dat.
p/s im in civil engineering, degree, anything to ask just find me |

I started in sem 05/06 =)@Syukri, sure, songkoks are allowed. Just don't wear short pants when u're in campus, even when you're not having classes, as you're staying in k1. UTMKL's rules are very very strict. Observe monday's formal dress code, or summons will be dealt |

QUOTE(Ben91 @ Jun 21 2009, 12:28 AM) wah, senior!hi hi! erm, i have those old books; but i wonder how u can get from me. Dont worry, there sure are seniors in UTMKL that can help you out, with past years and books. Dont get from me since my time has passed so long, the books are probably obsolete. Those damn ref books keep updating themselves, so you probably gotta get a new one to keep with the flow. Can tell me more about studying civil engineering in utmkl? How are the lecturers and stuff? Btw,you still got all your old books or notes that you used during your diploma that you dont want anymore? Well, studying civil engineering there is kinda fun, as the course is (IMHO) quite easy and the lecturers are friendly as well as not that strict neither. Means that you probably can get quite good marks in your exam providing you did study. And rely on past years, the final exams probably will come out more or less the same. But UTMKL has a shortage of professors; thus you guys gotta make up with late night classes DDA, 1st year is a relaxing period, no subjects are tough and more or less you have learnt them in SPM. After that you will be able to mix with your seniors and will know what you will be expecting next. Just go and have fun. And say hi to Dr. Shree for me QUOTE(suevoon @ Jun 21 2009, 12:31 AM) hihi...im doing degree in software eng too!! anyone same course wit me??..im nervous..!! For those interested in playing basketball in UTM, we have a basketball club there. There shall be trainings, like 3 times weekly. Everyone who is interested in training ball can come. The training times will be known after semester starts, and i'll keep you guys updated
Oh, and sorry to dash your hopes, there is no indoor basketball court in UTM. And the courts we usually play on is very very rough; prepare to change shoes every 1 year as the soles will be worn out For broadband, i tried maxis and celcom both, maxis has a very slow turtle like speed, celcom is so so. Celcom 3g can be used to play online games; albeit with some lag. So weigh your pros and cons before buying |

Did i hear someone mention about dota?
UTM KL is nice la. The kediaman siswa is ok, rooms are clean and the best part is 2 rooms 1 toilet. Though the food in the canteen is not really good. Facilities in the college includes 1 small futsal green field, 1 concrete multipupose field (usually used for futsal and sepak takraw), gym, a basketball court, convenience marts, few classrooms and a surau. Not bad huh p/s but i still moved out to stay outside during my diploma years This post has been edited by idiotidiot: Jun 22 2009, 07:27 PM |

QUOTE(Ben91 @ Jun 22 2009, 09:49 PM) idiotidiot,im wandering,is there any buses that go to klcc from our kolej kediaman or the university itself? There are buses that will stop at klcc, from the campus. There is a bus stop outside the main gate. Though i kinda forgot what numbers are they. Erm, from k2, however i dont quite know whether the buses there will stop at klcc or not. Cause i drive and seldom sit bus. But, there is a bus stop outside k2, within walking distance. Buses there can take you to Wangsa maju's LRT station; or to Pudu (its near Times Square, Lowyat and Sg Wang). Other destinations i am not really familiar though QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Jun 22 2009, 10:15 PM) Hey senior, the wifi really sucks? inside our room can connect? Did it suck so much until you want to use wireless broadband like celcom? Haha, sorry to break this to you, but yeah, it sucks. UTM kononnya is a technology school; but in internet this area it phailed And water dispenser |

QUOTE(Ben91 @ Jun 22 2009, 11:32 PM) thanks for the info,i no car or license so i must depend on bus/taxi to go lepaking and also to balik, real helpful info.. Erm, the number of students varies but i heard they're kinda limiting local students into entering UTMKL nowadays and accepting more international students, thus the new name UTM International College or something. Before, in my days we had about 3 section full of students, around 60 per section translating to about 180 students in my batch. But my juniors got lesser afterwards. So that's about it. btw,how many civil engineering student do utm take usually? Wondering how many course-mate i shall have BTW, what race are u of? |

Erm, i dont know but im guessing mostly of arabic islamic countries. Middle east perhaps. And china.
Nah, the number of students is actually quite low, if compared to us in UTMJB. We civil engineers alone have our own faculty, and the people inside you couldnt get to know every single one of them. But in diploma, it is possible. Im chinese, wow mixed |

Yes registering chargers are FOC. As well as your computer things.
You gotta pay for kettles, radios, fridge, oven and whatsoever things you decide to bring. |

Sometimes i wonder why the heck they want us to rely on Elearning to get our notes, check whether classes have been canceled or do online quizzes etc, the wifi in UTM is so terrible. Gets on my nerves sometimes. Technology, kononnya.
A visiting company personnel once snubbed us because of no internet access in the campus. Duh |

No dude, seriously, i did not wear batik at all during my mhs period, and i underwent mhs TWICE, both in UTMKL and UTMJB. Though. Just buy one batik and keep it, you never know. Suddenly the mhs agents want u guys to wear. Safer lah QUOTE(Ben91 @ Jun 24 2009, 10:03 AM) I also didn buy batik yet,saw here then only remembered =.=' Yes, mhs needs a white formal long sleeve, take at least 2 there. So you can wash one and wear the other while it's drying. btw,mhs week shirt white color only? i only got 2,that also school uniform from last year.. QUOTE(suevoon @ Jun 24 2009, 10:07 AM) Not enough, bring at least 2. Or else your shirt will stink from not washing it for days. |
