I'm not sure how thing work now, but during my time (before matriculation is a compulsory, I'm in the last batch that can choose whether wanna go to matriculation or not), we got a program called Integrasi Sains Komputer, meaning, you've to meet certain requirement in order for you to obtain the degree, if not, you'll be in Diploma. If you met the requirement, you are required to choose between certain majors (that time, there are 6 majors IIANM). To get into Degree in Network Major, you have to have certain CGPA level which is higher than what is required by Software Engineering level.
