I got one question here: Once submitting the PTPTN form, have to wait how long until the loan is acquired?

Just realised that I'm in Kolej Tun Razak here. Spoke with a couple of my seniors from the same school as mine. Got some valuable info.

QUOTE(SookLee @ Jun 21 2008, 08:01 AM) Saw in the first page of this thread, you said you're taking management too. Technological or marketing? QUOTE(azarimy @ Jun 22 2008, 12:23 AM) u need to wear those ties only during orientation. if u join the student body, u might get to wear it again. other than that, no, u're not required to wear them. I heard that Mondays also need to wear tie?not sure about the batik though. |

Woohoo~! Wifi connection at KTR's Dewan Tun Rahah is pretty good actually. Would be better if we could get online from our rooms though.

QUOTE(ili @ Jun 3 2009, 02:15 AM) wah if like this knowing.. i shud bring minimum three bags If you subscribe to Digi, you can apply for D'Campus where you can make free calls after RM1 of usage per day. It's really popular with students there. Added on June 3, 2009, 2:21 ambawak guitar ok ke kat sana? Bringing your guitar should be fine. Acoustic or electric guitar? One big warning though: Most of UTM's drains are uncovered, some are quite deep and extremely dangerous to newbies. I saw a person fall into a waist-deep drain right outside the hall during MHS (Minggu Haluan Siswa or Orientation Week) and several others tripped and fell on the way back to the hostel. There are no guardrails as well, one slip might send you tumbling down into the river. So bring along a torchlight or handphone with torchlight functions in case the road lamps aren't functioning and the roads are pitch-black. Items which will be provided for you by UTM: Metal cupboard with mirror, desk with chair, metal bed frame, mattress, window curtains. If you're lucky you might end up staying alone in a double room. Some items that you might need to bring yourself: Pillow (and/or bolster), bed sheets, locks for your cupboard. You can bring electrical equipment such as kettles but rice cookers are not allowed. You need to register your handphone charger as well as laptop at the kolej office (for free) or else they'll issue a summons. Stalls should be open on the first day of MHS and you can get your essential items there. Shuttle buses to Jusco in Taman Universiti are available during the weekends (after class starts). Some items that you might need during MHS: Small bar of soap, fork and spoon, bandage, torchlight, cap, small umbrella, 2 or 3 sets of formal clothing and a pair of sport shoes since Sports Day might be held on the last day of MHS. I brought along a novel and mp3 player. Life during MHS can be as tough as heck, since everything is meticulously planned out for you newbies from dawn to dusk. It's organised by agents from the MPP (Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar or Student Representative Council) and food will be supplied by them four times a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper). Technically you can skip certain parts and sleep in on certain days but it's not recommended, since the bulk of information provided will be during MHS. You'll get your Matrix Card by the end of day 1 and register for your subjects in the middle of the week. Since I won't participate in being an agent for MHS, I'm here to answer any questions until the new semester begins. This post has been edited by DeltaPanthera: Jun 4 2009, 10:57 PM |

QUOTE(Muhammad Syukri @ Jun 2 2009, 06:28 PM) i think need to pay before the registration, later they ask u slip of payment to confirmed that u pay the fee. If it's the same as last year, you can pay your registration fee by bank transfer or by cash when you first arrive for MHS. You can pay half/quarter/RM1 if you want to but it's recommended that you pay fully. If not then you'll find out that you can't register for co-curriculum and regular subjects for the next semester. |

QUOTE(shinichi88 @ Jun 8 2009, 11:22 AM) As for my experience, i stay in KTR, we always gather in KTR hall every night, till around 12.30 midnight, and wake up at 6.00 morning, Same experience as Shinchi above. If you have earplugs, bring it out cause you'll hear sirens and loud banging at 6 in the morning. Many of us did not give trouble, but somehow, some people have trouble with their document, such as PTPTN stuff, is really problematic, and bcuz of that all of us stay quite long waiting for the agent to dismiss us. My advice is, Don't play at midnite, Go to SLEEP. Tomorrow still have a tired day to go. U don't really need to bring money during MHS, cuz they will provide food. breakfast, lunch, teatime, dinner, supper. For those who not enough full, can buy from the "mini market". Don't really need to bring a lot of money. If i'm not mistaken, you will be wearing Formal, quite offen.. So get 2 or 3 pair ready.. Take care of your shirt nicely, don dirty it, wash it after u think is dirty enough.. Always have extra, as sometime your shirt not dry fast enough during raining or cloudy days. Your matrik card, is like your IC. Always bring it with you, and do not lose it.. Oh ya, as for the medical check up, i did it in UTM Pusat Kesihatan, and did X-ray at there. Is not that expensive, around RM 25 if not mistaken. They're not that strict when it comes to formal wear. You can try wearing black-coloured sports shoes when walking to the dewan. Medical checkup isn't that cheap either. If I'm not mistaken the fee was RM60 for the X-ray. QUOTE(ili @ Jun 9 2009, 03:34 PM) How's UTM gym facilities and what kind of activites/club do they offer? i saw UTM equestrian is that really open for all? o.o There are gym facilities at the Komplex Sukan but I haven't been there before, so I can't comment much. But from what I heard, they're equipped with exercise equipment and treadmills. It's open on alternate days for males and females, but I don't remember which days are open for which gender. As for equestrian, it's one of the most popular Co-Q activities together with scuba diving and catering. You can get these subjects if you hit the submit button within the first few minutes when the online registration opens. Any later and it'll be snatched up by other eager students. It's easier when you sign up during the 2nd semester. Btw, there are also language courses available in UTM (Japanese, French, German, Korean) available as both credit and non-credit subjects. Ask more if you wanna know more. |
