diploma:

u can apply via UPU. i believe all UPU applications are online, but there's a specific window when u can apply. u need to buy the access from bank simpanan national or the post office to apply. once u've filled the forms online, ur application will be processed and submitted to UTM for considerations. applications are usually open the week the SPM results come out.

degree:

assuming u've graduated ur UTM diploma, u will apply via UPU as well, the same with applying with diploma, during the same time of the year.

we still have to work, but without classes, it's a whole lepak2 minum kopi all day long.

but then again, everyday also like that ah. clock in at 8am, wait for class, goto class, then wait for clock out at 530pm, then go home. lallalallalalalallalaa

i realized that wifi around FAB not that good during the day. but at night, i see people swarming in groups hopping from spots to spots trying to find a good line. when they do, they stop and lepak ramai2. it's a totally new culture hahhaahah! cool gila.

now i just anchor myself (read: wired network), bcoz it seems to be very, very fast. probably bcoz everybody else uses wireless...

wifiUTM may suck.

but wired services are damn fast. last night i downloaded a bunch of files on rapidshare at 1200kbps. i kid u not . i shall screen capture the next time i get anything higher than 1000kbps, just to show off.

i have wired service in FAB. all architecture students were given wired networks in the studios since 2002 accessible to them. but nowadays people use wireless bcoz of mobility. i dunno much about how networks work, but i have a very fast line, especially at night.

and yes, i'm a lecturer and i'm using wired network in my office.

FAB is advanced bcoz at one time, the students demanded the school to provide them with internet. trust me, if the students dont make a complain in huge numbers, nothing will get done . so complain away!

FAB chicks, especially architecture, are more into people who're more confident and extroverted. and mostly these are those who're more financially able. so it's not about the money, it's about who u are .

the kansas people are still here. well, not exactly here, they're all in melaka for site visit. will be coming back tmrw . last time we had a collaboration with bologna university and la villette, paris. dia punya awek laaagiiii mantaaaaappp....

FKE is without doubt the lifeline of UTM, the heart and lungs. FAB is probably the face, which is probably why we tend to be more superficial LOL.

haha, dah buat salah, mengaku aje laaa .

my friend and i got caught with rambut panjang during 2nd year. i was summoned to the HEP office to meet this guy (cant remember what's his name). since going to the office must be tidy and smart, we cut our hair before going there laa.

but then the officer marah2 coz rambut dah pendek!

"macamana saya nak tahu rambut awak panjang mana?" he said. "dah, pegi balik, bila dah panjang datang balik!".

we didnt know if he was joking. but then he gave us a slip each to pay RM25 at the bendahari. we didnt bother coming back .

overall, i got caught 4 times with rambut panjang throughout 6 years of study. 3 of them by Hatta. u'll know him if u got caught too often. he's still there last i checked a couple of weeks ago, but pangkat dah tinggi hehehe. and he still remembers me. scary giler...

Added on February 16, 2009, 7:50 pmbtw, UTM is one of the most secure campus around bcoz of that. the random questions are simply random, they're looking at reactions, body language and for anything out of the ordinary. it's a simple police procedure when they pull u over. if u gelabah and kalut, they'll suspect something amiss, and will give it a more thorough check.

it also logs every vehicular ingress into the campus. which i must say, makes me feel safer.

nothing that u couldnt answer, really. they ask the usual stuffs like background, aspirations in academia, ur personal motivation, contribution bla bla bla. a good practice is to answer in the language it was asked in. if they ask u in english, u answer in english. if BM = BM. if mixed, then always opt for english. english proficiency normally is given preference.

there will be 2 interviews. the first would be before u get the job. this normally consists of the dean, deputy dean, head of department and HR officer. a couple of months after u get in, u'll be interviewed on the higher level consisting of the TNCs, HR chief and all the top people (about 6-7 of them).

i came back for 3 weeks, then went off again .

if i recall correctly, IPTA fees are quite standard based on individual courses. so if u compare electrical engineering in UTM, the fees should be more or less the same with UPM's or USM's. the only big difference is in kolej fees. UiTM is under MARA, they got lots of other perks that other IPTAs dont have. one example: extremely cheaper food .
