Today I tried the without removing throttle body medium. My mech just rev for about 1min+ and using a spray at the same time. According to him, this can also clean the intake manifold and injectors as well. But throttle body won't be that clean.

Do you think he should take out the throttle body and clean it first and then spray? Or spray will do. He gave me 2 options, removing the TB or without (using the spray). Yea, a lot of white smoke coming out from the rear.

This cannot be done many times as it will damage the engine, it's my first time, sadly got no angpows.

Can hear loud roar sound and much more responsive (powah).

Does it mean that sluggish acceleration, bad FC can and may be due to dirty TB / injectors?

RM70.

Bad fuel consumption is due to dirty air filter. I only do tuning when my idling unstable. Moreless about 30,000km - 40,000km.

How often do you need to do this? Usually I just use Fuel System Cleaners + Engine Cleaner Flush. Once every year.

Just hope that my idling stable for at least a year, otherwise I might go phuck the mechanic up. laugh.gif He is not my regular mech, I only go there to do tuning. My mom's friend. Obviously my regular mech is much better but tarak tuning gadget.

I'm afraid the throttle body might still be dirty... sweat.gif

How often you guys do spray cleaning? Will it be ok to do both, removing the TB and clean it and then spray cleaning again inside?

Can feel the ummphh, the engine is much more responsive than before, rpm naik faster.

How much it cost to do injectors cleaning? Does this included when I go for full overhaul?

Yea, tak mau Mivec anymore, give up, not as excited as last time. Now just want to keep the current engine healthy, able to last me for another 10 years or 300,000km.

Fuel filter never change before, and so is the water pump. Timing belt change also coming soon, another 10,000km.

I might consider doing everything at one shot. Roughly about how muchie?

Engine mileage is 120,xxx.

yes, ultrasonic vibrations.. even my teeth felt the vibrations..

wanna clean it urself? use petrol.. but won't be as clean like using the ultrasonic method..

for me, removing the throttle body and cleaning it using petrol is the best way.. open up the butterfly and sand the housing using a 2000-grit sand paper, wash it, blow it dry (or let it sit a while to dry) and stuck it back in.. but don't forget ur intake manifold, clean it too.. biggrin.gif

i will remove the throttle body and clean it with WD40..if u want clean without removing it,then u should clean it with engine off..
coz the WD40 is a chemical liquid..if spray WD40 to clean the TB while engine running, the chemical will damage the oxygen sensors along the exhaust..

efi is called throttle body
carb is called butterfly valve

actually both is the same... acts as a gate for how much air to enter the engine...

I asked my mechanic and he say that WD40 is not recommended to clean throttle body as its essentially denatured kerosene. Will corrode the throttle body gasket and the valve seals.
