If you move a lot, SECC casing is not for you. But my PC always fix under my comp table so have no problem. Also the price is cheaper if compare to Alu casing.

QUOTE(punkysue @ Nov 12 2007, 03:48 PM) hmm so the raidmax sirius is heavy.. issit a good thing or a bad thing?? so, u sometimes put ur casing on ur head la...cuz its not like im gonna put it on my head the whole time.. hmm.. how bout in terms of performance and airflow not all the time LOL, who the hell put their casing on their heads & what do u mean by "performance"? first time i hear such thing for a casing air flow? any casing will have a good air flow as long there's nothing obstructing the air flow... seriously, its impossible that nothing will obstruct it so what could be obstructing the air flow:
1. Cables No need explanation, just managed it la 2. HDD Bay compare these two cases, in your opinion which casing's hdd bay position will obstruct air flow greater than the other? (not to mention the noise produced cause of the obstruction) Lian Li PC-G7 ![]() imagine u use all the hdd slot Lian Li PC-007 ![]() now, with this kinda position, even u use all the hdd slot, still got room for the intake air to go through less obstruction compared to Lian Li PC-G7 3. Air Intake Design again, compare these two cases, in your opinion which casing's air intake design will obstruct air flow (air intake) greater than the other? (not to mention the noise produced cause of the obstruction) Lian Li PC-G7 ![]() had this case once, me use Vizo on this casing --> noisy, damn noisy compared to PC-007 (currently using Lian Li PC-007 ![]() me using this case now, using the same Vizo fan --> seriously the noise reduce a lot, u can hear the difference & certainly with the holey design on the front, makes the air to be suck in much easier compared to G7 so just watch out for those two things --> hdd bay position & air intake design... cables? QUOTE(skymyxe @ Nov 13 2007, 09:47 AM) Hi Guys,I started another thread asking about PC casing before E-J@1 pointed me to this thread. So, here goes my question again: (1) I am planning to get a PC with the following spec: Intel C2D E6850 ASUS P5K SE 2GB 667 DDR2 WD 250GB Winfast 8500GT 256MB LG DVD + DVDRW I have done some research and seems to like the following casings: (1) ASUS TA951 (no much people is talking about it) (2) CM Elite (3) CM Centurion 5 The PSU I have in mind is Gigabyte 460W. P/S: Budget for chassis + PSU = < RM400 I wonder which one would give the best air flow? Thanks in advance. |

I think it's a bit hard to fork out a recommended PSU for you while getting the case from your list ..
Because u are running a good system with those nice hardwares that definitely required a good PSU to keep it healthy, I bet u don't want to screw up just for the sack of cutting PSU budget down ... U could live with even cheaper case temporary but don't get a least quality PSU ... Get power supply that cost about RM300 for peace in mind rather than afterward u gone through the hassle to buy a new PSU ... As for the case wise, if u could push up the budget a bit more then a CM Elite series is definitely could goes into ur purchase list ... btw why DDR2 667 not DDR 2 800 ?? |

As for the RAM, I bought those some time back so I am reusing them As far as I am concerned, the performance between 667 and 800 is not that noticeable in day-to-day operation |

ic .. then just forget about the ram ...
Performance won't be much different between the two speed fpr day t oday usage but it would be when u are gaming .. slight 2-3 fps in average ... better than none .. anyway back to the topic .. PSU wise u could choose these two: Silverstone ST506F 560W RM350, HEC Ace Power 480W RM290 or cheaper one that I tried before Enlight 550w RM310.. HEC is cheapest but it runs on dual 8cm fan and it's a bit noisy .. only a bit . .. while the other two run on single 12cm fan so pretty quiet .. but not close to silent .. |

That's the problem loh .. if anytime he gonna power up a faster graphic card .. that time go buy another PSU again ???
Look into future long use if one is not gonna upgrade often, and I'm sure he isn't the type that upgrade so often .. that's the best suggestion to secure his investment for now and coming year or two .. .a PSU could last 5 years men ,,,, |

I don't upgrade my PC often. I normally will buy the entire PC if there's a need (of course I don't do that often either, $$$ mah By the way, Doom, what's wrong with that Gigabyte PSU? Is 460W enough for my spec? Thanks. |

Doom was actually giving you some options for future upgrade.
The 460w is nice for your current setup but if you gonna run a high end GC in it, then you might start to find that 460w is no longer enough for it. Bout the few Doom recommended, i would say try avoid the ST56F Strider. That PSU has some quality issues, a lot of people using are complaining about the clicking sound from the PSU Fan, it's pretty annoying. While for the case, the CM C5 is available for as low as RM160. Try to find in Imbi(you know which shop to get it lar). That should be the best case you can get which you leave you quite some budget for the PSU. |

yah like meno said, it's not worth of buying another one if u somehow ended upgrading a gc .. u never know..
That's why the best is to get a stable one, I used HEC Ace and Enlight .. Both are good enough and won't burn a hole in pocket.. |

If he's not a one, then it would be even more sensible to spent a bit more on PSU to ensure the stability and performance of the PC ...
Last thing u want is ur PSU to fail on u .. coz that would cost a lot to get a new one again .. since PSU price doesn't drops much from releases until end of the cycle. |
