hurm doesnt the realtemp release note said that they adjusted the tjmax for the 45nm cpus according to the released documentation from intel??
btw my cpu is 65nm so im stuck with the "assumed" tjmax  cry.gif
*
i think 65nm cpu not suffered from that problem.. so should be accurate..

oopss sorry,i mean ur temp on idle..
mine at 50c worr..  sad.gif vcore only 1.28v

50? that's high.. maybe the heatsink not seated well.. or maybe too much thermal paste
but on realtemp 2.70 around 30-33 only..

hi guys, wanna ask, previously im using dfi dk p35 mobo on vista 32bit os with 4gb ram, and the os was logically detected about 3.25gb of ram..

but when i use this board it only utilizes 3gb..

i suspect this is caused by "memory remap feature" setting on the bios

user posted image

am i right?how am i gonna increase the memory utilized?should i disable it? unsure.gif unsure.gif

Added on September 1, 2008, 8:31 amnoob question

Why we need lower the multiplier when we manual overclock?
Like E8400 default multiplier is 9. FSB is 333. (3GHZ). We can just increase the FSB to 400 to achieve 3.6GHz?
(should we change the CPU voltage at 9*400?)

And i see at some website achieve 4GHz as below
9*445= 4.0GHz
increase the CPU voltage from 1.3625v to 1.4000v in order to achieve total stability
However keep in mind that a 445MHz FSB will force you to run the DDR2 memory at no less than 890MHz, though most DDR2-800 memory modules should be capable of this.
increasing the DRAM voltage to 1.9~2.1v could also be necessary
2.2v for 1066 (kingston hyperX)
Using the standard voltage at 3.6GHz saw a stress temp of just 37 degrees, while this temperature sky rocketed to 60 degrees when operating with more voltage at 4.0GHz!
(above is using Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme)
(anyone have change the DRAM voltage from 2.1-2.2? if i using corsiar dominator 1066. should i change to 2.2v?)

Some CPU-z on overclock E8400

for dominator,in their website show safe voltage for it is 2.2v max i think? voltage is nt the problem. i think u shud play wif vmch to make it stable n gud air for dominator. rclxms.gif

becoz to get higher FSB n the fsb:ram ratio in 1:1 is better..

how to properly setup my hdd with ahci with SMART and NCQ?... the settings are quite misleading... primary set to ahci then can set to 4 ports/6ports? then the 2ndary can set to enhanced or disabled?... blurring here since the user manual doesnt explain it properly...

Thanks for fast respone smile.gif
Ya. We can get higher FSB and ram 1:1 ratio is optimal for stability.
There's lots of reasons for running 1:1... One is less stress on the motherboard because it doesn't have to deal with dividers. Two is generally lower latency, because when you go through a divider, you take a memory performance hit. For example, few ddr3 1333 ram are running 1:1. You would need a fsb of 666mhz, just hard achievable with today's hardware.
What to do is play around with frequency, timings, and dividers, until get the lowest memory latency in Everest.

DDR2 800mhz requires a fsb of 400mhz to get 1:1!

DDR2 1000mhz requires a fsb of 500mhz to run 1:1!

DDR2 1200mhz requires a fsb of 600mhz to run 1:1!

DDR3 1333mhz requires a fsb of 666 to run 1:1!

E8400@3Ghz oc to 3.6Ghz without changing the vcore ok? smile.gif
My ram is 1066. 1066/2=533. Mean i can oc 9*533? (if temp no consider) by using Biostar TPower.
Any recommand for oc to 3.6GHz or 4GHz using dominator 1066 ram? What is the suitable multiplier, FSB and vcore?

8 series can oc with less vcore.. 4ghz around 1.4v
my 7 series requires 1.5v..

actually 700fsb achievable with this board IINM.. so 666 is no problem..
now limit only with ddr2..
