hi guys, i'm interested in undergoing a ITIL training. So I searched abit and I found 2 places that offer the course

ITIL V3 foundation
1) The alc group
http://www.alctraining.com.my/course_index.php?sched=0
.The fee is RM3300
FEES INCLUDE lunch, morning and afternoon tea, and all course materials.

2)ITSM expertise sdn bhd
http://www.itilmalaysia.com/
the fee is 2995.
inclusive of exam, student manual and meals.
So the same course but different rate. Anyone has any idea what is the difference here. Is the ALC group provide better training compare to ITSM?
Obviously for me ITSM is more appealing since you pay less but it includes your exam as well.
Or anyone can suggest me other training center. Thanks

Did my ITIL with ALC (DLJ was our trainer).. its paid by the company so I'm not sure about the Fees though.. they came and do an in-house training at our office.. I'd say the training is excellent, though the British accent of the trainer was be a bit hard-to-follow for staff, especially when he's speaking softly.

On the other hand, did my training on SDI's certified Service Desk Analyst certification with ITSM expert sdn bhd (Tony was the trainer). Its a smaller company and they held the training at one of the hotels in PJ. Training is also excellent - we skipped most of the ITIL content in SDI because we already know them and still pass the exam.

However I think both courses above are quite expensive to be taken at your own expense - try convincing your company to sponsor it!

Certification is crucial in landing a job, in negotiating your basic pay etc, but for the rest of your career, the most important thing however is not certification - but knowing how to do your job, showing initiative & interest in the job, and dont assume that since you know a lot, you know everything already.. there is always something new to learn & discover.. I have colleagues with extensive certifications but is clueless when it comes to technical things, and colleagues who are very knowledgeable and because of that, they think there's no need to learn anything new, and end up getting outdated.. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Cheers!
