if u want MCSA, i suggest u just take MCITP:EA, skip 2003 tech, go straight to 2008.

for those who wanna take Cisco exam, can drop by any pearson vue exam center, google them and look for exam center nearest to ur place smile.gif some exam center do accept cash and doesnt need early booking (few weeks),

but they charge at fixed rate for cash, example x3.8, if u have credit card then better since now USD is so low icon_rolleyes.gif

if u are under Cisco networking academy, u should have a discount voucher for your ccna, i think is 70%, ur instructor should know better

are u sure ? CCNA holder annual salary is 46k ? lolx..

seriously doubt that that is AVERAGE income.... what lies in you make you worth the 46k?? a paper of cert of CCNA? Over demand just killing the market rapidly..

Guys (and gals)

Talent Management? Yes my company (MNC) sent us for training. But all we have is attendance certificates sad.gif

5 years of working experience as a platform based system administrator (Wintel) Im being paid pretty decent 7k++ but still a system support. i felt im not moving anywhere, not vertically, not horizontally. Not even new projects. Been trying to look on the outside world, ppl dont pay a system support worth anything more than that. I felt depressed. cry.gif

When i reach to this forum, got inspired. blush.gif Im thinking of PMP. Anyone has any tips of getting that? Pre-requisites? Cost? Location? Help? notworthy.gif

No cert only plain degree with a expired CCNA (ignorable)

Seriously im only good with server settings. Wintel Fixing, Recovering, Tweakings, batch scripting and lame stuffs like that. So long it runs under Windows, im quite versatile. Backups / Storage / San config comes no problem to me.

4 yrs old co. -> Doing practically all kind of supports (AD/DNS/GPO/Desktop/Security Hardening/Backup/Storage etc)
1 yrs current co. -> Doing Wintel Production Server supports. (Citrix/VMwares/"lame" windows function like patching, monitoring services and reboot server)

Im at infantry level vms. Touched by surface, cuz we have a VM team and project team practically owns the entire design and functional thing.
As for Citrix - client support level, again, never the overall architecture designed level. - Not interested - shakehead.gif

I have enough of being support. Its frustrating trying to fix things that result from poor initial concept design. I wanna dive into the project world as lead or even just senior role in a team that make things happen, in a place where i can do architecture designing, system requirements and specifications drawn out. Indeed, i have very shallow experience sad.gif and i dont seem to be given a chance to grab hold of that opportunity. Not here, not outside. Nobody giving me a chance. doh.gif Im a loser. Everyone love my job, but nobody understand my frustration cry.gif But then i suddenly woke up. No point crying. I have to do something about it. But what?

- I need major help -

If you have exposure to VM/Wintel, you could go for VCP or MCITP (Exchange Server). The key is to make full use of the infra that you are supporting. Experience + certifications is a major plus point when it comes to department transfers or moving to a different company. I started off as a system engineer as well mainly Wintel back in 2006, and I wanted to move into networking because of interest. CCNA opened doors for me to get into MNCs to support/implement enterprise infra. Else i'd probably be still stuck handling pcs, small firewalls, static routes and setting up dyndns today. Journey doesn't stop there though. Been still on the certification track since 2008 till today. Fortunately not sick of it yet.

This is from a technical perspective. If you prefer moving on to management, PMP would probably be the way to go, but you'd need experience in project management to make that certification work for you smile.gif

Hi, I wanna ask smile.gif

Currently my company offer to sponsor any IT-related course and I've few "candidates" these are"
1. VMWare
2. CCNA Security or CCNP (I already got my CCNA certification)

from those lists, do you have any other recommendations ? and roughly, how much it costs ? my study background is Software Engineering

Thank You
