hi there . I'm also a fresh grad, got an interview for fund accountant next week from the mid valley jobstreet career fair . HAHA . after seeing all those comments bout the position, it also give me some nerves bout joining RBC . any tips for interv next week . ?

Hi, I went to MHFC today, I was interviewed by this sweet person, who was asking me about bonds, which I couldn't answer , It was unexpected and I totally blanked out, anyway she gave me her no. to call back if I'm still interested, so they can give me another chance for interview, I'm wondering is it the same for you guys as well?

same as nasi ayam . the comp that interviewed me is RBC Dexia . I forgot the interviewer name but he's from Hong Kong, Manager of Fund Accounting (that is the position he offered me in that need to come for interview this coming tuesday) .  He's Been working with RBC for 10yrs and . Transfered to RBC Malaysia for almost 2yrs now and yes, the HR lady name is cilia who was the one scheduled me for my next interview . Hehehe .. indeed . Quite hard for fresh grad to get a job now so I just give it a try for the RBC interview plus on wednesday, I got an interview with RHB offered position as an Finance Exec . Also, give it a try ;p

btw, what is MHFC . ? hehe .

hmm...working in rbc as fund accountant is actually quite good for those who intend to get the knowledge and exposure in investment and share market ...

ie..fund accountant in rbc dexia will know alot of corporate action and alot of derivatives products like futures, options, OTC products, swaps, cfd shares etc...

i admit that fund accounting job is a daily routine job and back-end position in investment industry.

But, if u grab the opportunities to work and learn in this role, u sure can earn alot of things, knowledge and experience..

*i'm a ex-rbc employee..it is just my 2 cent..^^

haha..the main reason i left rbc is becoz i going to start up my own business...^^

when the time i left, i heard that rbc is going to expand and double up the amount of staff to 1k.. if im not mistaken la ~~

anyway, fresh grad can go and have a try since the paid for freshie is high..if really cant tahan or not suitable, den just change the job ...^^

I was being interviewed by nicole . She did asked me bout transaction . Like when u buy a house what is the debit part and credit part or when u buy a car what is the transaction and so on . I didnt manage to answer cause long time dy so I forgot . HAHA . then at the end of d interview I asked her since I cant answer her ques will that be affected at my performance, then she said yes . so I assume I didnt get through cause to be a fund acc u MUST know d transaction . that's what she said .

guys..is it the first interview during the mid valley career fair??i thought it is just a chit chat..she said she wanted to call me..i m still waiting for it..

is it ok to ask them hows the progress?

Choc pudding thanks a lot for your info, I'm from acc backgrd too, I think that's why she ask me bout bonds during the Mid Valley Career Fair. But don't worry, keep your fingers cross, you never know kan? 
and.. Nasi Ayam, congrats to ya,    Im having my interview this Week too, my cgpa not to say good lar, so I'm not sure how. Anyway u onie had 1 interview is it? I sure hope i get it, I'm so tired of finding for jobs.
