im gonna go for an interview this monday.. for a position as 'senior auditor'.. im currently working with Public Bank, and it's been 4 'good' years if not great.. any advice from anybody? Im kind of uncertain on this.. anyway I think i'll give it a try (for the interview).. if their offers are good and if the job scopes suit my expectation then maybe it's time for me to try something new;)

QUOTE(youngblood29us @ Mar 13 2011, 02:57 PM)
hi guys..came across this thread and being a ex staff of rbc, i thought of sharing some facts..first of all there no racism as claimed by lalazhai..thats bullcrap..ZAX 2, if u failed the interview, the problem lies in you..dont blame race as the reason..

the problem with rbc is the bosses mingle too freely with staffs and some will take opportunity to 'bodek' and the brainless bosses actually fall for that..that causes favoritism..this has been misunderstood by some as racism..what asanta said is 100% correct..play ur cards well..

honestly, 90% of the processes are back office processing..which means the job is repetitive..the pay well but ur career will be in disaster..ur learning curve will go downhill..the so called fund accounting is not that greater either..maybe its just slightly respectable than the rest..i left rbc last year..i was a pioneer then..went overseas for training etc..but i realized i was going nowhere there(knowledge wise)..

Freshies should not go into RBC..u should take up something more challenging in life..its always not abt the MONEY..if RBC closes down, u guys have no where to go..trust me

Epiyana-thats something new..i cant advise u on that..RBC have expanded so i guess auditors are new..during the interview, pls ask clearly whats ur job scope..if u intend to leave Public Bank, think very carefully..the benefits in RBc cant match PB

Sorry for a being spoilsport  for those who are eager to join RBC..hehe..but if ur going for the money, then go ahead

Thanks for the advise youngblood.. i'll give it a try.. just wanna know what are they offering;)

I've finished my 1st interview for a senior auditor position on monday.. It was a simple interview with the recruiter, Brian Lobo.. A very nice person.. The senior audit manager who was suppose to interview me was away but subsequently I was introduced to a nice looking lady named Ee Leng, the only senior auditor there so far.. Evrything was just fine except for the case study part because I didn't manage to complete some of the scenarios given.. Anyway they say that there will be another session and it can just be by phone.. I'm kind of happy with the interview as they're being honest regarding the bonuses and benefits which are surely incomparable with what I'm enjoying with public bank now.. But based on my observation, the kind of staff that they have are different.. They looked confident, with good communication skills. In simple words, they are international.. Now I'm waiting for what they can offer me.. If its worth the experience that I'll get for my career advancement then I'll go for it.. InsyaAllah

im gonna go for my 2nd interview in 2 weeks time.. since nobody here can advise me on the position that they are offering which is as a senior auditor.. then i'll just wait and see.. the interview will be conducted by the senior manager of that department.. Yes its true that it is boring if you keep doing the operations i.e fund accounting or etc. the only senior auditor there told me about this as she initially joined RBC as part of the operations workforce. but when I realized she leaved EY for RBC and subsequently involved internal transfer then i think i should hear what they can offer 1st.. what i know is that i dont have to rush.. I have also had a good interview with PETRONAS yesterday so hopefully it worked because I will surely go for PETRONAS over RBC;)
