this is like... to WoW peeps, THE "euro cup", or "World cup" of WoW in contrast to football.

3AM, and going into semi-finals.

with around or over 90k US dollar on the line, its HUGE. with ALL The games played on HP sponsored Blackbird PCs (worth around or more than RM20k.)

the quality of playing is also beyond what words could ever describe.
If i may so humbly compare my team with theirs, its basically my team, x4-5 the quality. THATS how f***ing GOOD they are, no joke.

stuffs like rogues popping cheatdeath TWO SECONDS INTO THE MATCH BETWEEN TOP TIERED PLAYERS IS UNHEARD OF ON LIVE. yet DGFG did it. the WORLD's BEST RMP team around. sadly they lost due to RRD countercomp but still MUCH respect on their 2/3 result (won first 2 matches)

then you get to see one of the best priest in the world- hydra playing, with nihilum european team, hunter + disc priest + restokin druid beasteh
LIVE.

vs azael/zyz/spoh
RogueRogueDruid

spoh, basically also one of the best druids in the world, and good looks to boot too smile.gif

sadly they lost too as RRD against nihilum with hydra's INSANE DPS NUKE on spoh. very VERY well timed nukes
result is also 2/3
it was a TIGHT 1 all, then 2 ALL, then the deciding match.

DONT MISS THIS GUYS smile.gif
you can prolly get the later recordings on gotfrag.com, but LIVE IS DEFINITELY FTW.

commentaries were done by pros this time too with one of CLC member helldridge (the warlock) doing commentary and it was INTENSE. and best of all, at the same time, informative, AND newbie friendly so people that NEVER played WoW would still know whats goin on. (they even give facts/informations during breaks.)

ok... watch the live broadcast from san diego, until 5:30am... theres the winner/runner up interviews etc but i just cant push myself further as i could really use 1-2 hour sleep before work >_<

anyways. good. f***ing. matches. the last match was... wow...

so MANY clutch plays from hydra and spoh, and azael was doing damn insane with the <1k mana dps... (he swap lock for 2 matches DESPITE fighting against an INSANE drain team - nihilum, with star players like hydra/cherez [best hunter in the world based off SK100])

anyways, try to catch the recordings. its on gotfrag.com
ill be catching my share of the interviews too as i cant watch the live earlier on XD

Who is this Azael guy, damn 7 versatile fuyoh. shocking.gif

He played 3 different classes (rogue, warrior, lock) while most of the other guys stick to one class.

ex-serrenia number 1 BG9 5v5 warlock. you can lookup his movies on warcraftmovies.com. arguebly one of the best warlocks there is. and hes proven this on MLG if you've watched the match

everyone: as some of you may've already read it, ming's blog already covered the major highlights of the matchups. and given his good blogging/writing capabilities, i believe he would put the match highlights much better than i would. so head on gameriot now and read it up smile.gif

also lol:

Jasi: So you both feel that BG9 is mostly comprised of players carried by mods?

CP: No matter what battle group you go to you will find great teams and players.

Lycra: Well if DGFG had mods they would definitely be in the top spots honestly.  They are some of the greatest players I have ever seen.  It is just hard to counterspell without focus frames or ANYTHING.  Celex even admitted to us that without mods it was hard for him to do anything. He is the greatest mage I have ever faced... I think once you get use to mods it is just hard to play without them.

Welcome to the World of Meleecraft.

Anyway, this whole esport thing reminds me so much of Guild Wars. They have various tourneys like the seasonal league, championships, cocacola etc etc from the very beginning. And the price money was 100k-300k USD. The finals' hosts varies from countries to countries yearly. Guild Wars was created as an esport from the ground up and the scale of the tournaments are much larger. They even have in-game delayed footages of top teams' fights.

I was a bit tired of all these pvp and GW's PvE is almost non-existence, once you've completed the game. So I thought I'd play an MMO that has good PvE and PvP, which was WoW that I chose.

And guess what, lol.. the damn esport is back laugh.gif

difference? people would know about WoW e-sport, where as GW... not so much.
cant be helped when theres over 10mil players behind a game vs guildwars where it only have.... 1-3 mil? more or less.

esport or not, WoW will be WoW. if you dont like the esport/pvp aspect of it, dont. there is always its pve aspect.

Nah it's not that I don't like PvP. In fact I can't imagine playing WoW without it. Just stating that its hilarious that Blizz is going for the esport approach. Well whatever that banks in the money for them I guess. Hope the PvE wont be affected by this.

Oh and did you guys hear the commentaries? laugh.gif I burst out laughing when I heard them said..

A: He trinketed out of stun, and immediately got a mace stun after that.
B: Yeah, that was pretty... cool..

rofl pretty sure he was wanting to say THAT WAS PRETTY RETARDED!
