cost will vary from RM50-rm100. depends on package cuz certain dentist hv package together with normal check up (of course) and polishing.
go to govt hosp will be sooooo much cheaper, like rm2. heh. but u have to wait like forever unless u go to small state hospital. |

tartar removal...man i've done this 2 years ago and i still can't forget how painful it was...and my teeth bleed non-stop for 2 days...no kidding, i need to gargle with water every few minutes...after woke up from sleep a thick layer of frozen blood stuck in my teeth...
well ONLY if u have a weak gum and don't consume much calcium though...if ur gum didnt bleed when brushing, then u won't have such things as i faced though |

You have sensitive gums. You should try sensodyne toothpaste and also soft bristle brushes. well ONLY if u have a weak gum and don't consume much calcium though...if ur gum didnt bleed when brushing, then u won't have such things as i faced though I always have slight gum bleeding at the back of the jaw when i use medium to hard bristle brushes & colgate/darlie toothpaste. QUOTE(map @ Jun 16 2008, 11:23 AM) scaling not painful but will feel weird because after that can feel the gaps between your teeth It's because the space between your teeth are already clean hence the 'gap'.eat before u go see dentist!!! I did mine in Setia Alam for RM70 (scaling & polishing). Whenever I feel the uneasiness when my dentist scales, i'll tell her it's not very comfortable and of course she'll ease up on the cleaning. Same goes to polishing. Anyway, when I started to use Sensodyne, the scaling & polishing procedure was no longer that uncomfortable. FYI, I have sensitive teeth - particularly the 4 front teeth (upper & lower jaw). This post has been edited by Shazzac: Jun 27 2011, 03:49 PM |

Does scaling procedure involved polishing? Is it automatically included? Recently I went for scaling and I told the dentist of certain tooth with discolouration she proceeded with scaling and paid special attention to continuously scrub the stain away with prophy paste. After that the surface of that tooth appears sandy, if I uses fingernail to lightly scratch over other teeth it is smooth but the tooth that was scrubbed I can feel the smooth part now only exist at the sides where as the part that has been scrubbed has lost this layer and appears porous and rough. Has this enamel been damaged? I somewhat wonder if I should not have done the polishing but then again I wasn't even informed about what entails polishing (until I researched) and she didn't even said this was part of her scaling procedure.
