Can iPhone SMS with Chinese Characters?, Any softwares?

Hi guys and gals,
Thinking of getting an iPhone, but I was told that an iPhone can read sms in chinese but couldn't write. Is this true? I need to send chinese SMS sometimes le...  Is there any softwares to install? Will the warranty void after software installation?  I am sorry if my questions sound silly Thanks very much in advance... |
