i have this weird prob that is driving me crazy!!
I've been overclocking my Pentium D 2.66 to 3.6 GHZ and it runs just fine for the past few days and i keep track on my overclocking temp and things like that using CPU-z,PC-wizard, and Easy tune 5. So since last week, all the Temp, speed and other info shows the same on BIOS and windows.
today i took my pc back to my hometown and this weird prob occurs.
My BIOS shows that im running my Pentium D at 3.6GHZ with all the settings on manual except Auto on voltage control, but then when i logged on to windows, CPU-Z and all my applcation shows that im running on standard speed??
so tried to restart and check the BIOS, it shows that im still running my proc at 3.6ghz without any changes!!
i thought the proc already spoiled, so i changed to other proc(pentium 4 3.0 HT), and still the same prob occurs, BIOS shows im running at 3.8 but windows shows im running at standard!!
heres my spec
MOBO:GA-EP35-DS3 PROC:Pentium D 2.66 RAM:Kingston Hyper X PC-8500 high performace ram OS:Windows XP sp3 GFX:ZOTAC AMP! Geforce 9600GT.

Getting Started

|
I think Intel Speed Step technology is causing the trouble. Try turning it off. I also don't know if your processor supports Enhanced C1E state. Turn that off also if it is on.

@-pws- I did go to the Advanced BIOS option and tried to search for the EIST and C1E option, but the board didn't display the option at all.
and funny thing is, the manual book said it is caused by my CPU that did not support the features, does it mean my Pentium D 805 and Pentium 4 HT 631 does not support overclocking???
this is really weird man, caused i overclocked this two CPUS before, and why suddently i cant overclock my CPU????.....dude, why my Mobo is acting this way? and the option suddenly dissapeared???
I also tried to clear the CMOS using jumper for 30 seconds, but still i cannt find the EIST and C1E option and still i cant overclock my CPU ...huwa....

C1E & EIST is power saving mode, no support means no power saving. NOT no overcl0ck. you need to press CTRL+F1 to access all options in BIOS (as hafiez said & it's written in manual book)

did that, and still the EIST and C1E option cannot be found anywhere!!...man ....
What i meant in not overclock is that no matter what i do the clock will be reseted at stock clock after i saved the setting, and in windows, it shows that my CPU clock runs at stock speed...
i dont know what to do anymore, i dont want to flash my BIOS, its too risky....
maybe i need to change my MOBO?? hmm...please...help me guys..

looks like this: http://www.tomshardware.com/gallery/Gigaby...80----jpg-.htmlactually if your processors doesn't support this 2 function (research yourself), then it won't be enabled anyway = just leave them alone. ok, try this. 1. press F9 in BIOS main page, see the CPU speed & etc... (no sure but giga mobo should have this) 2. disable the fullscreen logo, reboot, press PAUSE|BREAK on the time it show your CPU speed (be fast) you can press any key to continue boot. do it read properly as your overclocked speed?
