Okay, gonna use this thread as a collection of information for my new pet project. Gonna turbo my parent's company car, a black Nissan Sentra XG-L automatic. The existing Sentra came with a Nismo bodykit..., but I've always found it to be retarded that the bodykit looks nice, but the car isn't fast enough to back up the looks.

Not pic of my car, obviously, but is the same model.

So, I have question for you guys:

-What's the engine code for the Sentra 1.8? I spent too much time in US oledy..., no idea what they dump into the Malaysian market cars.
-Who is the local Brembo dealer? I want real Brembos..., not cheap copy shit.
-Turbo kit. Who is the popular Nissan tuner here? Don't think Nismo has a turbo...

When turbo is on, I'll put on a HKS SSQV, for that "whistle" when you let your foot off.

This project will take some time..., and when I get done, I want to race a Type-R. Anyone here got Type-R willing to volunteer?

Ya lor hor..., I forgot about that. Used to my RX-8's 18 inchers already tongue.gif

If like this..., I wonder if I can just fit a 6pot caliper? I'll go check later, see how much space got.

too bad with power, it does not have the handling to match sad.gif

Eh, this will be a pure straight line car. Idea is to BLAST down the straights, hard on brakes, then turn. Rinse and repeat. I expect loads of mad torque steer, understeer and might be difficult to control.

But who cares? End up faster than Type-Rs I believe.

Plus, IIRC, the Sentra came with adjustable suspension. The suspension "broke" once, send into service, say not broke, so only retune the suspension, and it works fine again.

Dunno leh?

SR20DET? Do tell more. I'm interested.

How do the HP numbers compare to the Silvia one?

Ya. I'm not kidding.

Want to prove a point that instead of spending 15k being a stupid ricer wannabe to build a TepR, I can spend that same amount and smoke real Type-Rs.

See thread below for reference:

Mmrm..., if must do gearbox transplant, it's going to cost more than 15k. This is just to prove a point..., so I think I might do bolt-ons.

Thanks for the info!

don't cry if you kena tapau by a k3VET equipped kenari on BOTH straights and corners. doh.gif sentra doesn't come with coilovers. even the ones with nismo bodykits have standard shocks.

LOL Kenari with K3VET. That will be *very* interesting. tongue.gif

Hard to beat Kenari with a decent engine la. So small car..., light... Nothing I can do about that.

If Sentra only got standard shocks, I think I might just go seize the rear suspension, so in terms of straight line performance, there won't be loss of traction. Turning will be "fun" though. tongue.gif

Ya. But I'm building this car to prove a point to the TS in that thread. He wants to convert a 1.8 Civic to a "TepR". Want to show him that you can use 15k to make a 1.8 FASTER than a Type-R, rather than waste money on useless body kits.

kk, I'll check out both.

FIRST must get permission to mod the XG-L. tongue.gif If not, I'll do it secretly..., at night. tongue.gif

It's my parent's company. They own the company..., so no reason for them to "take back" since its theirs anyway.

Youre gonna spend 15k to soup up your dads companys car to prove a point to a dude who wants to convert his civic to a type r lookalike?
He wants his car to look like a type-r.not perform like one..Couldnt you find a better reason to mod your car?personal preference or genuine enthusiasm? doh.gif
*
I don't have a reason to mod any car in Malaysia. tongue.gif

I'm just bored enough to do something like that... Don't have my RX-8, don't have anything to do. sad.gif

Actually, I was thinking of doing the turbo myself. Kinda bodoh pay someone else to do it when it's my project. >.>
