US version is region locked for X360. I bought PS3 R1 for SGD81. Can i post my impression here? First of all i wana say this is a great game. It certainly build for console in mind. Nevertheless it is fun n can be finish in 2 to 3 good hour. I used to be a hardcore civ3 n civ4 player. I felt that civ revo are not as good as the civ in the pc. From my opinion Revolution is too easy n not as in depth as the civ series in pc. It lack of the one more turn factor. The only good thing bout it maybe is the online play, n a wee fun of couple hour. I will buy the X360 version just togo online to pit against my fren. It wil be more nice if they can add webcam for the online play. This one are among the top list title i wana get for my original copy after i get an unmoded X360. Sory for no paragraph, on mobile now.

QUOTE(zhiyung @ Jul 30 2008, 01:59 AM) I always read people commenting the game is short, well actually how is it 'short'? Is it within 2-3 hours you can complete the SS then end the game? Or the AI is so lousy (or you are too good) until you can sapu them easily? I said this game is short is not becoz I'm too good or the AI is too lousy. The AI in Civ Revo is good but not perfect if you know how to exploit it. Back to the short game issue .. if you have played Civ3 or Civ4 you will know this game is very short. I can play for 10hours straight in Civ3 and Civ4 but not in Civ Revo ( of course I don't really want that so long in console ) Oh btw, she is Jyuri Takahashi if you have want to play some serious Civ game.. play Civ4.. and it is even better if you can find the Civ3 imo it is the best in the entire series. Civ Rev is good if you want to play for a couple hour of fun. It lack alot of thing from the PC series.. not so detail.. hope you understand. : D This post has been edited by juine: Jul 30 2008, 09:40 AM |

'What I Learned From Not Playing Civilization'
QUOTE Not playing Civ taught me some important lessons about the audience for games. Yes, I may want to screw around with history and make bizarre alternate timelines but most players want to be authentic to their perception of history, not to their boundless imaginations, at least in the context of nation-building games. I may feel constrained by a tech tree which encodes certain preconceptions about history, but most players of Civ find in the technology tree a vibrant advancement mechanic that they enjoy exploring and min-maxing to their benefit. http://kotaku.com/5037894/what-i-learned-f...ng-civilizationNot playing Civ taught me that I am not the audience for games, even though I have spent my life playing them. And that, I suppose, helped push me into further exploring just who the audience for games really were… |
