Since u will be traveling to US rather often a quadband phone is a must. Certain roaming requires the use of 850MHz band.
Avoid phones such as HTC Touch which are only tri-band.
GPS is a must! Travelers would definitely find it useful.

Asus p320 seems to be within your budget with extras for casing and spare batteries.

Thanks for the recommendations. Call up a few shops in Low Yat, but they quote the hTC 3600i around RM1799. Might be a bit too high la. Any other pda besides that? Thanks

@lordmaul, i highly recommend HTC P3600i, because for a newbie pda owner u may find that choice of yours laggy/slow. See http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=703106&hl= and say Baronic sent u, ask for best price.

@Whoopa, 1.5k with GPS and dun wan second hand a bit hard bro. I dun have anything to really recommend. There ARE OLD OLD models that fit your budget, but their specs arent good, or old stock. I recommend you try your best to find Dopod D810 (though its old stock, but its the only one brand new and value for money that i'd recommend), or if u can, try topping up and get the HTC P3600i. Else, u can consider second hand set.

@zenox, please quote post one and edit accordingly everything so we can properly advise

and no, u dun usually get better deals in PC fair than what you get right now from the selling threads in lowyat.

838pro is kinda discontinued. so usually old stock stuff. so price kinda flexible. but shud be within your budget, i recommend second hand tho.

ic..

I found out kinda troublesome to bring pen and notepad around (attend meeting, take notes on certain stuffs) and messy, so decided to get PDA, to record everything in electronic form to make it look tidy and easy to manage.

My question:
1. Is it qwerty keyboard PDA suit me? Can I choose no qwerty keyboard PDA?
2. If qwerty keyboard change to No and other requirements remain same, what are the model to recommend?

BUDGET RANGE:1.8k max

Second hand: not important as long as screen doesn't have scratches.

QWERTY keyboard: Whatever type of keyboard, not important.

GPS: BIG yes

Bluetooth: Yes

WIfi: Yes

Frequent Overseas traveller to Japan and US? or other countries: no

Camera Resolution minimum:2mp

Expandable Memory: Yes

3G : No

HSDPA or higher: No

Front Camera: Yes. still can live without though.

Gaming Type: None

Screen Resolution: the more the merrier. colour would be good, but not essential.

Screen size: biggest possible for reading. This will be used a lot for reading/viewing files and appointment keeping and small enough to read GPS on the move, not so much for editing.

@edison_84, do know that it takes A LOT of practice before you can stylus write as fast as u write on pencil and paper. So i highly recommend a qwerty keyboard. much much much better. Other req same, go for D810 or HTC P3600i.

@whoopa, go look around in LYN and lelong.com.my for price. HTC P3600i brand new around 1.7k. Dopod D810 discontinued so price flexible.

@lordmaul, you're welcome.

@smallbug, llook around for Eten's devices. They have a great line up, and i would get it accept for ram for my heavy heavy gaming and some no front cam. But i would recommend you have a look at Eten Glofish M700 (old but still okay), the newer Eten Glofish M800, and Eten Glofish X800 (the non keyboard version of Eten Glofish M800). Look around for prices as i dun really keep track of Eten prices. But the X800 brand new shud meet your budget, and you may be able to get a second hand M800

@Slekerz, before i recommend, could u say again regarding screen resolution? let me clarify for you.

Screen size does not mean better screen resolution in the pda world. A small screen still looks and can view documents better if it has a better resolution. Can i say you want VGA?

Go for a second hand HTC P3600i. Perfect for beginners cuz of stability, yet features wise its excellent at the same time.

EDIT: ops forgot your qwerty req. Go for 838 pro second hand bro.

softbank is an overseas set version of 838pro. i highly do not recommend it as u'll have warranty trouble. SIS will REFUSE to repair even if u pay them, and its harder and MORE DANGEROUS to flash new roms

@bakkutt, its hard to compare like that, matter of fact impossible. all got ptos and cons, please view their threads for information
