Well, it just leaked today/yesterday depending on where you are. I've obtained the file and just skimmed over it so far.
Firstly, its titled City of the Gods, so that old title rumor was true at that time. Secondly, nearly every major point in Crystal Skull is here like the giant ants, Peruvian lost city, monkeys, fridge nuking, Marion, Oxley, two timing character and aliens. Thirdly, there's a lot of cutesy references to the older films...far more than Crystal Skull. Fourthly, it seems crammed with nearly every character from the previous films such as Willie and Sallah. Fifthly, there's a fighter plane chase, giant snake (think Harry Potter 2 basilisk size) and giant hummingbirds the size of hawks. It doesnt seem that much superior (or different) to Koepp's Crystal Skull on first impressions to be honest, so a lot of ppl (me included) probably owe Lucas an apology for slamming his rejection of it.
Burga - will be giving it a proper read over the next few days

I'm not trying to convince anyone about anything here. Its just breaking news, and a massive one if you are a fan. And you seem to forget that Indy IV has been pretty well received by the fans. Even the fanatical ones. Those that dont like it also mostly dislike The Last Crusade or are Raiders purists (in which case they dislike all the sequels.) Many people (me included) had bad feelings about Lucas shooting down a Darabont script which Spielberg reportedly loved and then handed writing duties to Koepp who is a far less distinguished writer. However, as it turned out, Darabont did not write a superior script. Its better in some ways, but (far) worse in many others. The main story is about the same, but its stuffed with self references (too much fan service), has a bunch of direct references to Looney Tunes (no kidding)...among other things. Plus Indy has lost his fear of snakes, none of the new characters (so far) are anywhere near as interesting as Spalko and Mutt, and Oxley has telekinetic powers. Its an interesting read for any movie fan. And we can rest assured that Lucas still has (at least) some good taste, and the film would not have been a superior film with Darabont's script. Its was pretty big what-if scenario. This post has been edited by BurgaFlippinMan: Jun 13 2008, 12:13 AM

Movie junkies, of which there are probably 5 or 6 at most here as far as I can observe. This post has been edited by BurgaFlippinMan: Jun 13 2008, 10:55 AM

QUOTE(aiman04 @ Jun 13 2008, 11:44 AM) Sorry Burga, should've supported you. But I'm not as strong as you bro, I'm just so sad that many people don't understand the new movie. My respect to you. Don't worry about it. The number of posters here whose opinions are of above zero credibility value can be counted on less than ten fingers. And yes, its just sad that when a fun popcorn flick which puts even stuff like those POTC films and Transformers to shame, people here can't recognize it. Added on June 13, 2008, 4:24 pmBtw, Moriarty of AICN has confirmed it as legit, and that its typed copy of the actual script turned in (to avoid watermarks and all presumably) This post has been edited by BurgaFlippinMan: Jun 13 2008, 04:24 PM

I say it is as fun as Curse, but overall wins on points (I absolutely despise the music in Curse for one).

QUOTE(broken_string @ Jun 13 2008, 06:20 PM) wonder why so many ppl bash indy 4 ? i think its quite good my personal rating, dun flame me TOD - 9.5 Raiders - 9.0 Skull - 8.5 Crusade - 8.0 You chose....wisely. QUOTE(QuickFire @ Jun 13 2008, 06:49 PM) I'm one who enjoyed Curse more than Skull. The thing is POTC was fresh, while Skull came off 3 excellent movies. I like Curse, but I'd rather watch an hour long repeating loop of Shia's Tarzan antics than listen to Curse's soundtrack. Bruckheimer deserves to rot in hell for firing Silvestri. Oh, another plus point for Koepp's Skull over Darabont's City of the Gods - at least its Mutt doing the vine swinging, not Indy.
