I managed to pinjam a Panasonic BD30 and test it on my amp. The sound is slightly warmer if decoded by the amp but I didn't buy that player, firstly it took nearly two mins to play Fantastic Four Silver Surfer BD, secondly, it's an ugly looking player, thirdly, very sluggish and not responsive enough when navigating the menus in the movie and lastly, it's RM2,999 (even after discount still quite expensive). No doubt, the 1080p/24fps is a tad smoother than PS3 and the details are slightly sharper than PS3 but it's still not a must buy player yet. Apparently, the Panasonic salesman was keen to push the player to me but instead, I bought a Lumix digital camera from them.

If to pc, it took me around 19 mins. Today the line is pretty good. Just updated my PS3 and yup, the add noise reduction functions really resulted better upscaled video quality especially on dvds. Haven't tested everything yet though.

Well, the frame and block noise works well with poorly mastered dvds or older movies but on good quality movies, better set them to off or 1 the most, setting them higher will make the picture softer. It works for sure.

I hope the next update will include 1080i deinterlacing to 1080p. Sony did mention about this, guess they didn't manage to squeeze this in for this update but at least it's a bigger update than XBOX 360 for this summer.

If you're kedekut, you won't buy a PS3 in the first place. CR007 is among some of the better or must buy titles for BD, you won't go wrong buying this one. The PQ is razor sharp. After you buy this title, we will poison you with other titles.

Well, to be honest, a number of BD titles have a slight grain, not sure whether they're intentional or not but it's there.

The LG HTIB was nominated 5 stars by What Hi-Fi UK and I have listened to it before at Best Denki, the sound was surprisingly good. Next runner up was of course, Sony's HTIB which sounded pretty decent too. Sadly, they don't accept LPCM via HDMI.

Plus cheaper than DHL too.
