actually PQ can be much better than normal DVD9.. if they throw away all the extras and jack up the bitrates during encoding of video and audio to fill up the dual layer 8.5GB capacity in DVDs like the previous superbits releases...

but I rather 1. they release 720p H.264 MKVs (with 4.3GB file size) in unker ho dvdr discs..  biggrin.gif ..
or. 2. 1080p H.264 MKVs (with 7-8GB file size) in unker ho DVD9r discs.. hehe!

Well, I don't bother much whether it's Blu-Ray D9 or genuine D9 dvds, standard dvd is still standard dvd and besides, original Blu-Ray titles are reasonable and even better when there's a promotion from Amazon. To me, dvds are just like preview copies, I like the movie, I'll buy the BD version. Sometimes piracy is not necessarily bad to the music or movie industry.

whatever it is, this is how hollywood suck us dry. take for example Top Gun. from VHS -> VCD -> LD -> DVD and now Blu Ray. what next. rclxub.gif
*
You forgot to mention besides this, we have Special Edition, Director's Cut, Extended Cut, blah, blah, blah, same movie but with additional running time, extra features, etc. So, sometimes for the same format, we might be buying a few times for the same movie, that is if we really like that movie that much. That's how they make money.

Just received my BDs today, the postman came early. Thanks a lot to mpyw for sending my BDs and megatron007 for the successful bulk. notworthy.gif

P/S: Dato' M, you didn't forget my CR007 BD, it was in the box when I opened it. I was surprised to see it there. This time glad to report that there were no casualties, all the BDs received were in excellent condition unlike the previous bulk, the postmen probably played Euro 2008 with the parcel. doh.gif I'll get ready for the next bulk, lately seldom touch my dvd player liao except for the Korean and HK TVB movies. tongue.gif

My AVP2 casing was broken into half. Hahaha. Lagi teruk. I managed to glue it back myself since ordering empty BD cases are too expensive.

I think there were a few used copies of Batman Begins on hd-dvds selling here a few months back but if you don't have a dedicated hd-dvd player, it's better to get the BD version instead.

You are a fan of Maroon 5 too? Their songs, Makes Me Wonder and This Love have been a big hit here. If their concert comes out on BD, I'll definitely buy it. rclxms.gif

If you partner it with a Velodyne sub, it won't be entry level anymore. tongue.gif
You can ask mpyw, I believe he will agree with me.

I've updated mine, so far no problems, maybe it affects older PS3 consoles like the 60GB and 80GB versions.

Mine is 80Gb version. No problem too. But the problem does not occur during or direclty after update. We're still not safe actually.

My advice is everyone who already updated their PS3, just don't use it too much right now, or to be safe, don't use it until a new update is provided.

No need to downgrade, I'm sure Sony will release version 2.41 very soon. It could be a dummy update file as 2.41 but with 2.36 data. Or a new fixed 2.40 as 2.41.

Just be patience.  icon_rolleyes.gif

RX, when you order those porns from PA, can tumpang? brows.gif

Err, then izzit safe to use it just to watch blu-ray movies?

I wonder why they never release MIB 2 on BD together with MIB 1 BD. That will be a perfect collection for everyone.

Matrix Trilogy is definitely a must buy title. Finally, it's released on BD but I guess I won't buy it again since I'm happy with my HD-DVD version. Pretty sad that Universal is a little slow, hope to see more titles from them on BD since a number of my favourite movies are from Universal.
