Fans of Square Enix RPGs may have assumed PS3 was the safe bet this generation of consoles. However, during a press conference in Japan today, the famed RPG maker announced its plans to support Xbox 360, with at least one exclusive, and two timed exclusives for Microsoft's current generation platform.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope, the fourth iteration of the popular RPG series, has been announced for Xbox 360 only.

Sad news for the PS3 fanboys.

i just sold off my xbox360 to buy PS3..

and truthfully i don't regret about it or even wonder how this news will be affecting the PS3 fanboys??

coming forward PS3 is going to get full range of other high quality exclusives games like FF13, FF13 versus and God Of War 3.

comparing star ocean to those is near nothing.

and PS3 rocks too now with METAL GEAR SOLID 4 YEAAAAA~!!!!!

I still want to buy PS3.. Huhuhuh.. Doesn't affect me whatsoever that announcement... Just waitin for PS3 to drop price further.. Huhuhuhu..

SO4 mostly is "time exclusive" for Xbox360, maybe after 1 year, it will release on other console like PS3. Anyway this is still a good news for xbox360 owner.

eh, with all this fanboyism going on from both sides, I wonder which of the 2 console is actually leading the market? Worldwide and regionally. The last time I checked, the 360 was ahead, but really that was lastttttttt time. No idea about now.

I heard its only a timed exclusive as in SE can release it after a certain period on another console . Even if it stays on the Xbox 360 , it isn't the end of the world . The previous 2 installments weren't that good . Didn't really like 2 despite the rave reviews while 3 had the shittiest storyline and was extremely tedious as you would be doing something like this .

Actually, the announcement was fine. The tone and manner was not. You didn't need to say sad day for PS3 fanboys, nor make it sound like its doomsday for PS3.

Its just another exclusive title. No big deal. All gaming companies will have their exclusive titles.

Though the game is kind of intimidating, I still choose PS3. They surely got more title from nippon than Xbox...

The game still not release yet, so we cant judge it yet, but u can found the video game play at anywhere, so i must said MGS4 will be the best adventure game so far. If u r adventure game like gamer, this one is must get game, so u must make sure u got PS3 first.
Back to topic, if u are Star Ocean fans, then u have no reason to miss it.

SO4 will release on 2009, u sure got time to play it but make sure u have finish GOW2, Infinite Undiscovery, Too Human and Fable 2. Another one, make sure u can keep ur xbox360 away from 3rod.

Ah... Star Ocean, whenever I think of Star Ocean 2 my heart is fills with joy. Star Ocean 2 is probably one of the best RPG I've played. SO3 was a disappointment.

Hopefully Star Ocean 4 will be as good as 2.

PS: TS is too poor to get a PS3.
