Now, my idea is based on the US reality series '30 Days', which explores different walks of American life. Only this time, it'll be an exploration of different walks of Malaysian life. Now, i've send this pitch to Astro & MediaPrima and i have a 50-50 chance that it'll ever be greenlighted.

However, i'd like to discuss my idea with LYN members. Since this is a reality, it's unscripted but here are some episodes i've made (10 episodes);

Title: Malaysian Life
Story: Unscripted reality show where Malaysians from different walks of life encounters Malaysians from different walks of life for 30 days (Singaporeans included):

Episodes:

1.Urban & Kampung:
-A Bangsar urbanite lives with a kampung family for 1 month to understand the harsh realities of the rural life.

2.Differing faith.
-A Conservative Malay Muslim lives with Hindu parents in order to understand the difference between them, and to realise the harsh of realities of the NEP towards the poor non-Malays.

3.Oil prices
-A government civil servant explores those who are suffering under the recent fuel price hike., and the lesson he learns from the experience.

4.Political DIfferences.
-Politicians from BN will be living in a town where PR has won its seat, whle politicians from PR will be living in a town where PR has won its seat. This will be an understanding towards the basic question of democracy: "What makes the rakyat vote for the party?"

5.Borders
-A Singaporean family will swap with a Malaysian family in order to end its misconceptions towards both countries.

6.Private & Public
-A rich private school kid will swap with a government school student in order to understand differing sectors of education.

7.Khalwat Anyone?
-Breaking the barriers of race & religion, a Malay Muslim girl who has never met a non Malay will be living with a Chinese girl & and an Indian girl, both who has never met a Malay.

8.Bloggers
-Imagine if a man who has never read a blog in his entire life decides to not read the MSM for 30 days and decides to read blogs for the first time.

9.A British return
-In this final episode, A former British officers from former Malaya brings his family along to return to his former colony, to see how his former colony has changed, and see if his family can bring their 21st century British life to an Eastern culture.

So what do you guys think? Will it make an informative & good show? And if you have an idea for a "30 Days Swap", then you can write your suggestions here. I'd love to read your opinions.

Quite a good idea, u have my support. But, some of the episodes may b abit "sensitive" 2 b aired on TV.

1 question here..
why you suggest the kampung style is at Bangsar? for me Bangsar is still modern kampung style. Why not in kelantan, perlis or sabah serawak? its realy purely kampung style.

i think you should send this idea to the company who produced the modeling competition which they make it into online viewing only, this makes tv's law can't be used here, meaning you'll get more freedom into what you'r doing and there's lil censoring... biggrin.gif

for point no 2. Now a muslim wish to declare he want to leave Islam also unable to do so ... you even thinking about swap religion? In muslim eyes, Islam is not their religion, Islam is their lifestyle and culture and believe.

Not leave Islam and become Hindu, but live LIKE a Hindu

I based it on this episode of 30 Days where a Christian explores the Muslim lifestyle:

Part 1:

Part 2:

Part 3:

Part 4:

Part 5:

There will be no prize. Come on lah, this is not Survivor. This show is meant to bridge together all walks of life.

What is your estimated chances that the proposal will be accepted?

I figured that if its not rejected 100%, it will be edited by 80%.

That might work, but it'll probably be censored to hell
