Guys & gals who have C905. How long does your battery last?

Mine can last about 1.5-2 days with calls, sms, mms, internet via 2G/3G/wifi, games, a bit GPSing and picture taking.

Also in camera mode. What is that camera on a tripod icon stands for on the bottom? Anyone know?
*
Should be image stabilization system enabled.

probably because with the flash the shutter time will be quick enough to not get blurry picture.
*
Since flash is not used, the shutter speed will have to be reduce to increase the exposure time otherwise you may get under-exposed pictures. In these conditions, camera-shake will be very likely. That is why software stabilization is activated to counter it. This stabilization is represented with the 'camera on tripod' icon.

because they want to make it as easy to use as possible. as far as i see, C905 take great pictures in various situation so iso setting is kinda useless. also most of the time people won't really care to set iso. if auto works very well there's no reason to manually set it.
*
Yes correct, but more advanced users may demand more. But anyway, it is what it is meant to be - a camera phone that takes great pictures.

Wow... original for RM1720 is such a good deal. I assume this is the full package and nothing has been omitted from the sales package?

yes..rm1720 is a very good deal..but sumtimes i wonder how they r able to sell this cheap?
way too low compared to other shops
*
Maybe they profit from high volume sales lor. Or they can obtain consignment or they can get the stocks at a cheaper price. Shouldn't be a problem if all the authentication stickers are there. But actually other shops selling RM1850 while most shopping complex retail stores selling at RM2099-2199 so it may suggest that the base price is quite low.

Seems like Atlantis is getting a lot of attention in lowyat. I see people recommending that shop for Nokia 5800 and now C905. Hehehe! I hope to pick one up by next week.

Very near also. Its Jalan SS2/66, shop facing out the road. Near SeaPark Pet Supplies. Behind the shop are another row of shops facing inward to the SS2 Pasar Malam.

Help me decide

a) Ipod touch,c095
b)Ipod touch, some 800-900 something SE phone, good camera
c)Samsung Innov8
d)Nokia 5580, good camera
e)iphone 3g
*
Hmmm B sounds like a good option to maximize your money. But if option A allows you to have similar capability with extra cash in the bank, go for A. Reason being, I don't believe in using mobile phone as music player. A mobile phone can take decent pictures but then again a good camera can't let you keep in touch with your friends and family.

But Renoir's flash isn't as powerful as C905 according to the reviews. I would go for Sony Ericsson since it is a more acceptable brand in Malaysia even though Renoir's price is quite attractive. But I will recommend C905. Will be going to Atlantis soon too! rclxm9.gif

for me, no front camera and no manual key lock is not a big deal biggrin.gif

Yeah, not really a show stopper to me. The manual keylock thing is same like N95, I don't remember having a manual lock option too. Although it lacks a front facing camera, but at least video calling is there. Yes, it a little stupid to use the rear/main camera for it. But I guess, I can live with it too.

Yoo hoo! rclxm9.gif Glad to join you guys. I got mine from Atlantis SS2/66 for RM1720 full set with screen protector. Mine's black and its very stylish. Anyway guys, how do we browse webpages as if its like from a PC? The default browser renders webpages in a mobile format. Should I use another browser? Thanks.

How's the screen of the c905 ? As I know, the c902 has a slightly dimmer screen than other phones so I hope the c905 isn't like this. hmm.gif
*
The C905's screen was touted among reviews to be one of the finest in the market. In my opinion, its bright and very contrasty. The scratch resistant mineral glass has gave it some good finishing touches. The C902's screen's is slightly dim and the colors are too warm. Anyway it has a small screen and its hardly acceptable for a high-end phone.

And u know what the salesman said?..

He said.. "SonyStyle?.. oh.. SonyStyle selling APset wan..".. shocking.gif

*nuff said... and left the booth/stall*.. tongue.gif

Cheers  sweat.gif

Wow... that guy really blow blow water and lie straight in front of your face. Maybe he is not interested to do business lar. I see some shops eager to serve you while others don't want to even look into your face. I encounter one shop who asks me to go around surveying other shops before coming to him. Just great! thumbup.gif

Guess we shouldn't shopping in Sungei Wang anymore. I feel more comfortable in Lowyat cause I know a few shops and the experience has been good so far. They won't go too cheap but you are assured of getting the market price and originality of products.

But I feel Atlantis SS2 will be my preference for now. Everywhere they are selling C905 for RM1850 but I can't believe it when Atlantis told me they are offering it for RM1720. The products are original and the service is accommodating. Chris and the lady provides very good service and their customers are primarily the SS2/PJ community.

Can't confirm here but I hope they will sort this out on the upcoming February software update.

Guys just want to verify with all of you. Does your C905 exhibits 'Optimized Charging' when you charge it? I just noticed today that mine doesn't exhibit this. Everything looks original with the stickers and stuff. Battery is 08w48 while phone is 08w53. Thanks.

Seriously, 12MP camera will not be debuting anytime soon. Year 2009 is about 8MP camera phones. Other phone manufacturers have a lot of catching up to do. Nokia for example. Then its time for the entry to mid level phones to catch up to 5MP AF cameras.

Investing on a sensor with 8MP is not small investment and you would expect to squeeze as much as possible from that investment before moving up a notch on the silicon process. I know those Korean and Chinese domestic market have a taste for ultra exaggerating products but that won't come to the international market anytime soon. You'll know when you read about Nokia and Sony Ericsson's product roadmap.

haha.
anyway, 2nd day of using C905, still lovin it!  rclxms.gif

Yeah I realize my wife's W980 also don't have 'optimized charging' and only displays 'charging'. But I feel something is weird with my battery charging process. It takes exactly an hour to go from 18% to 100%. Man thats fast, way too fast.

Yes, original price is RM1720. Can't emphasize that enough. Atlantis of Jalan SS2/66 is selling them on the cheap. Frankly speaking its a good buy since everywhere is selling on average RM1850.

Seriously speaking, I think Chris of Atlantis should consider starting a sales thread in the Garage Sales. Bring more fame to his Atlantis SS2 shop. At the price he's offering, its really competitive.

Don't forget, few shops further down Atlantis is EagleCom and the last I know, they are also competing in prices too. Along that shop lots, only this 2 shops I see lots of customer. Others are very quiet.

Just activated my wayfinder navigator. Was using it to get to work. Very accurate although not as powerful as those dedicated GPS like Garmin.

Better use the wayfinder mapdownloader to download the maps to your phone using your PC to save on 3G connection to download the maps.
*
Yeah, I find it nice too. But a year subscription for SEA region is around RM250. Kinda expensive. I was hoping the rates were around RM1xx. Good that I bought a Garmin to solve all my headaches navigating with a handphone.

I saw that 36 months subscription for 69euros (RM300++) with free GPS receiver worth 79euros.

Anyway my Garmin is coming soon tongue.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
*
Which model did you order? Kekekeke! Believe me, use the Garmin and forget about handphone navigation. Of course the Garmin is a lot bigger so you should keep a copy of navigation software just in case.

QUOTE(IcedNyior @ Jan 20 2009, 09:58 AM)
I tested out the google maps yesterday. quite accurate - then again i was in the heart of KL. Perhaps getting constant internet connection on your mobile - eg Maxis data plan (RM99/mth) - would be much cheaper than wayfinder?
*
Hmm does Google Maps have turn-by-turn navigation? If it has, then I'm gonna skip Navigator.

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Jan 20 2009, 10:01 AM)
I bought all my SonyEricsson phones from EagleCom as their pricing were lower than Atlantis that time. I'm not too sure about it now. hmm.gif
*
Guess we should be comparing both shops before making the buy. But at least we know where to buy handphones now.

Anyway has anyone experienced extraordinary battery drain with the C905 or is this something to be expected of? Yesterday I tried to obtain a GPS fix (trying to test it). Then I disabled the GPS cause I don't use it anyway. Guess what. Within a span of 1 hour, it dropped from 98% to 75%. Something is wrong. Phone was warm which indicated it is working on something. Looks like a software problem as it keeps the ARM9 CPU running. Battery drain. hmm.gif

Still can't decide on which model yet. Maybe after CNY.

Google Maps don't have turn-by-turn navigation. Only directions from point A to point B only.
*
Get the Nuvi 205W (US or local version nevermind). Price is around RM930. Yes it is quite pricey when if you compare the non-wide version next to it, you will immediately appreciate the extra 'view' when navigating with it. It gives you a lot of headstart in preparing for a turn.
