normally people who buy C905 will never consider other functions beside the 8mp camera. if you want smartphone with 8mp and xenon, you gotta wait for nokia for sure. UIQ is dead anyway, there'll be no more UIQ in the future.

currently the best choice for 8mp smartphone is innov8.

at about the same price range, Nokia N85 could be a better choice for feature per buck comparison.
*
and n85 is a crap when people want to shoot better photo with xenon.

IMO, it's ridiculous to buy a non-smart phone at over Rm1k price.
*
IMVHO, it's ridiculous to buy a smartphone when you need only 30% of its features. wink.gif

correct, but u can't find other brands which could drop as much as 50% of its launch price after a year
last time used to be samsung, but this time it's SE
*
gotta agree with this... sweat.gif

that's why me and my gf is waiting for the price to drop until like RM1800 for authorized set, or if the price is right before x'mas then just buy it anyhow lol. laugh.gif

my opinion on Renee's AP price for C905 is that it's absolutely safe to get it even now. below RM1700 for newly launched C905 is like what, killer deal? i really doubt original set will sell less than RM2k, even in sg is selling around S$800+. i wonder how Renee get that kind of killer price. hmm.gif

well it's better to compare the camera quality between N82 and C905 before changing, if the difference is not much, it's not really worth to make the move, N82 got Carl Zeiss which C905 doesnt
*
you certainly cannot compair like that. take for example, any low end digicam can pwn N82 even though they use cheap lens or brandless lens.

according to gsmarena, any of the 8mp shooters are ahead of even the top 5mp shooter. rclxms.gif

went to sg wang just now, most shops selling RM1800 and above. some have Orange logo (or other telco logo) so if you don't want tattoo on your phone, be careful. biggrin.gif

well for me it doesn't really matter cause i *never* make any video call. to me, video call is more of like emergency usage, like showing something to the other side via the camera on the spot. as long as C905 can make video call then it's ok, don't really care much about casual chat using video call. tongue.gif

this is the first time i heard feature phone (non-smartphone) need antivirus. but before we conclude the seller is conning you, check if there's any antivirus software installed on your phone. if nothing, then you're paying for nothing. sweat.gif

great. original sets coming in = lower AP sets price!!  rclxm9.gif

what if original = RM2199? AP still can sell at RM1800+ and still consider a lot cheaper than original, although last time is less than RM1700. sweat.gif

but it's always more safe to get the authorized set than AP anyway. biggrin.gif

just been to esato forum and have been watching those nice nice photos posted by C905 owners. man C905 really take good pictures! damn now i want C905 again but broke like dunno how lately. luckily authorized set haven't launch yet. sad.gif

oh about the video shooting, a guy compare C905 with N82, actually when put up on youtube it doesn't have any difference. but good thing about C905 is that it can take bright video with its super bright torch light! you can still see what's being recorded even in a total dark room. thumbup.gif

is there any dictionary software and translator for this phone?
*
there're quite a few made for java version. a little inconvenient but i think it will work.

some offline maps are also available for java platform too, so don't need to connect to 3G/WiFi to load google map.

Searched for it, but don't seem like something i want.

Anyway, thanks bro for your help smile.gif

you asked "is it possible to save gps maps on C905", so offline maps are what you want.

or, let me guess, you mean you're asking how to save the maps for "google maps", right? first of all, google maps cannot be saved, it can only load in realtime, and will only save a portion in the cache.

so, the conclusion is, you gotta search for "offline maps" for java phones. there're many offline maps for java platform, you search and try them out see which is you prefer.sweat.gif

whether they work with the internal gps, i don't have a clue. google is your best friend.

Yeah, I want to save offline map for GPS usage. But so far couldn't find any way to do so.

Hopefully in future there will be "saveable" maps for java base GPS apps smile.gif

if you understand how google maps works, you'll get the message that google maps will NOT be able to have offline version, cause the database is soooo huge that'll literally eat up your whole memory card even just within malaysia. imagine, map view/satellite view/terrain view, various zoom level, labels, POIs.

there're some offline maps which is based on google maps. but as far as i know someone made for iphone, but i don't think there's any for java platform.

if you at least want to have a simple map to try out and use it at the moment, just google and download them to try out.
