Sony Ericsson C905 - new photos prove mobile phones are better than digital cameras! ????

I should say this is rubbish talk. No full resolution photo for comparison is like crapping a chicken is laying an ostrich egg.

Compare with what Digital Camera? Those 2 megapixel camera 2 years back? Its not enough to justify saying the quality is better than DC. Who need 8megapixel anyway when there is not optical zoom and manual function? I'll stick with a 5/6/7 megapix compact cam with manual function and anytime pwn over C905.

i agree with you there. mobile phones cannot replace digital cameras in terms of photo quality. its the convenience of having it both a phone and a reasonable camera in one device that is attractive smile.gif

a quote from INNOV8 review by smape

QUOTE
Below you will see some comparison samples illustrating the quality of pictures produced by Samsung i8510 and Nokia N95 respectively. You should get a pretty good idea of a real-life difference between 5 Mp and 8 Mp cams. It should be taken into account that this difference heavily depends on the camera quality as well, and the matrix resolution is not the only critical factor contributing to the overall resulting quality. Samsung i8510 uses the best 8 Mp matrix around, while Nokia cameraphones come with the best 5 Mp camera units. The camera of Sony Ericsson C905 is comparable to that of Nokia N96, save for a larger shot resolution.

if the bold part are true, then too bad for c905, js a higher reso at n95's (and its siblings) quality sweat.gif

omg....how to keep up if like that?

9 megapixel mobile camera module launched
http://mobileratty.com/ article/ e6fd4c40d4cbb8679e78eee3d2c79157

If you were drooling over the 8 megapixel camera that the LG KC910, the Samsung INNOV8, or the Sony Ericsson C905 have to offer, it may be time to reassess your gadget-lust. Digital Imaging Systems launched their 9 megapixel camera module today, the DIS6931, which promises to capture photos up to 3488 x 2616 pixels in size and VGA video at 30 FPS. With power consumption under 175mW, an autofocus taking less than 300ms, a click-to-capture time of sub-200ms, and the highest pixel count to date, this module should be very appealing to manufacturers out there, so you can expect some announcements for the next notch in cameraphones real soon.

as much i agree with the comments above ON GENERAL.... i still find cameraphone can give the quality that is good enough to replace a digital camera. Of coz, it is very dependant on lightings and ambience... and the crucial one will be, the imaging software itself. Thats y i like using cameraphone to take photos... see how it perform. smile.gif but sadly.. there is no perfect cameraphone, so as cameraphone that can replace digital camera ENTIRELY.

A consumer doesnt really know how to use manual function, which is why PnS camera came out... if i would ask anyone around the mall if they know how to operate a camera correctly... they might just say " i point and shoot la. got other step meh?" or so happen i found a prosumer or prof photographer which tell me all the technical answers.. sweat.gif

again, it doesnt mean i find this C905 camera is superb... dun get me wrong.. especially after i saw full-res pictar taken by innov8 and Pixon by Samsung..

not sure, hope so its 2099 ori....then AP shud be around 1.7-1.8....then im 100% gonna get it...

cos comparing wit INNOV8, if the price is 2099, means theres a big price gap >.<
