Oh come on, many of us have set their eyes and previous owner love their iPhone so much and began to be thinking other phones are no ball game compare to the iPhone, including me. It changes everything that you would think about a mobile phone. Your statements to me like, you have not experience or try out iPhone? Once you use it, you either stay on it or upgrade to new iPhone without looking at any mobile phones anymore.Even if Nokia N95 is gonna be priced at RM599, still would say move on. (Btw, HTC Touch Diamond is a no ball game phone to me. |

It's the data plan offers by telco that adds the heavy burden price, $199 is just starting point.

But it is sure will be cheaper then the previous version iPhone, maybe not 50% cheaper as announced. . . I think we should be able to see it at the Garage Sales here with price below RM1K months later. . .In australia, N95 also 200 Aus, but you sign for 2 yr plan. same thing with Iphone. |

Iphone has to be sold with contract of minimal 18 months. In US, AT&T has raised the price of the data plan from $20 to $30 a month. AT&T's profits will drop over the next 2 years because of their subsidy to Apple, but they expect to show gains by 2010. They should expect a large number of new customers with the new $199 iPhone. So Iphone 2.0 cost much more then just $199 USD. |

I'm not going to get the latest iphone -- i don't think its worth the money. One, it will be extremely difficult to get a hold off because of whole contract-deal thing. 2. the new features it talks about doesn't really appeal to me -- yes 3g, but if you're on a campus with wi-fi most of the time, who cares? And the GPS isn't even a real GPS, its ASSISTED-GPS -- I have a feeling it gets your coordinates from cell towers.
3. It doesn't seem as durable as the old ones, especially with the plastic casing. The only things that really appeal to me in the new iphone are 1. larger space -- 16 GB is godsend, I need more space!). 2. the earphone plug in isn't depressed like the stupid first iphone. Apps and the rest can be used with the old iphone with a firmware update, so I'll be all set. I'll wait for iphone 3.0. In the meantime, I'm saving up for my macbook air |

The sales figure not up to their par/expectation? besides we dont any apple store in malaysia as well. |

QUOTE(c_calvin @ Jun 11 2008, 09:45 PM) not if you're in the woods without a cell phone connection. So that means you're pretty much SOL if you want to take your phone out of the country as well, it means you can't use it if you don't have coverage. Right now I'm using a Garmin Mobile 10x with my Palm, I can take it ANYWHERE as long as I take the maps, it has point of interests, and you don't need a constant internet connecting (i.e. use of google maps). And BTW, from the link you gave me: The Assistance Server can locate the phone roughly by what cell site it is connected to on the cellular network. QUOTE Some A-GPS solutions require an active connection to a cell phone (or other data) network to function, in others[2][3] it simply makes positioning faster and more accurate, but is not required. But i do agree that google map requiring constant connection will be a problem, hopefully Apple would allow 3rd party app to replace the google map. |
