Dern..where have I been? It's awesome to hear they're still making more music. What's even more far out is that they're combining their music with the community on youtube. So that's basically what this album is all about. You can see all that have transpired on their official website.
I've just seen the vid "Pork and Beans" and omigoodness they have the numa numa man! haha
I would definitely wanna get it. Is it out yet? perhaps i'll go scout on ebay for a good deal.

this album is nowhere like Pinkerton. Pinkerton was way melancholic and emo with touch of genius. This is just another catchy but rather light hearted pop rock album.

pinkerton got more grunge in it. this one got some weird electro-pop flavor. copy and paste music at its best. listen closely and u notice some radiohead post ok computer sound.

Pinkerton is the second album by the American rock band Weezer, released September 24, 1996
OK Computer is the third album by the English rock band Radiohead, released in 1997.

Dear,
How come Pinkerton have the 'OK Computer' sound when it was released a year earlier before 'OK Computer'?
And to say that Pinkerton as a 'copy and paste music at its best' is quite absurd!

Pinkerton is the last amazing album that weezer ever produced , before Matt Sharp leave weezer ( and formed The Rentals) and making the band less interesting since then...

But then i found Ozma.. and I am happy again!

Haha ... that was quite a comic relief. But I can't agree with our friend saying pinkerton was grungy shocking.gif
Imagine el scorcho, pink triangle, why bother, across the sea ....not a trace of grunge in em. Only traces of grunge to be found is the heavily distorted riff in Tired of S3x, that's all.

Give us another Pinkerton please !!!

yeah, i was actually referring to the obvious grunge sound on two songs: tired of sex, and getchoo.

Having Matt Sharp back won't make much of a difference. Rivers wrote most of the Blue/Pinkerton stuff anyway.
The new album is pretty gash except for a few songs. I can't really get into those sung by Pat or Brian. The best song on the album would be "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived". "Pig" is good as well but sadly it's only included in some other version of the album.

"Despite the album credits claiming Cuomo as sole song-writer, the entire album (with the exception of Butterfly) was co-written with Matt Sharp.[33]"

I do believe that Matt Sharp played a big part in composing the first and the second album. That is why weezer sound so diffrent after the second album.

If you listen to The Rentals' debut and second album, you can really find some of the 'sound' and 'emotion' that have been lost from weezer after the departure of Matt.
