after all...samsung is the supplier for nokia and Se camera sensor biggrin.gif
in terms of hardware wise, this Omnia better (of course) than iphone 3G, but the functionality (interface, UI, response) will determine either it can compete or not....nway, iphone hv a lot of fanboyz/fangirlz to support them and make their phone success although they offer slightly below par phone tongue.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

the proc quite good...better compare to x1 n htc touch pro...but too bad, the ram js 128mb only...even touch diamond higher...nway, as long it wont lag, its ok...who knows, samsung might optimize this omnia...
btw, higher ram better or higher cpu better? hmm.gif blush.gif

So sorry for XPERIA, not even out in the market, ppl already moved away from X1. Sony is sleeping.... Moto is dying.... Sams is attacking!

I wonder what happen to our "Mawi" phone brand....sudah masuk kubur ka?

Anyway, for mods...why is this i900 inside "Phone-Specific" thread? Why my i780 inside "PDA"? So double-standard...

I believe this i900 is "PDA" and not "Phone-Specific". And all PDAs out there is a phone altogether. Otherwise... omit "PDA" section and merge them into "Phone-Specific"... Just highlighting...

xperia x1 still hv some specs advantageous against the Omnia...when it launch...we can see how they compete each other including iphone 3G n HTC Touch Pro

laugh.gif i afraid this "if only" upgrade will consume much more battery + many other 3rd party common resolution 320x240 app couldn't be used
*
so thus this will make touch diamond/pro n x will be less software compatible? hmm.gif

Here is a hands-on preview on Samsung Omnia User Interface and Program Menus.

I am quite convinced up until this stage that is will be my first PDA phone.

In retrospect, my purchase target of PDA phone keep changing over time:
HTC Touch -> HTC Touch Cruise -> Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 -> HTC Touch Diamond -> Samsung Omnia i900

If something better announced, I might need to wait further. Sigh.
*
thanx 4 the video...the interface ok n for me, quite speedy... smile.gif
oh bro, dun wait so long..coz it might make u end up buying nothing tongue.gif

although i never use WM device yet, but from omnia interface, it seem mr. samsung manage to cover up the ugly WM interface with nice outer shell (crox UI)..the only thing quite letdown for omnia is its screen resolution..if they make it vga, it will be really nice

Added on July 6, 2008, 11:19 am5mpx camera test inlcuding Omnia, n95, n82, g600, c902, g810 n etc (pretty nice contestant)

Yeah  - I noticed this too with my phone. However I don't know how GSM Arena review got so nice shots? In fact they say the phone's camera is really nice na dpossibly best out there for Pocket PC. I wonder what's wrong? Right now I am trying in multiple modes to get the best picture qualities. Will report back later.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK - after some testing I found out the issue or rather the solution. When you using the camera's preview tool and zoom in - you will see a lot of pixelization and blurry lines. However when you use the Photo slides it's a different story altogether. The lines are clear and no pixelization even on deeper zooms - so the picts are nice. Perhaps the camera preview tool is not made for zooming in shots. One thing though - the colours tend to be a bit faded - I guess must be the lense and software of the camera. However it's still nice enough smile.gif

there is only few pocket pc with 5mpx, thus OMNIA can be considered as one of the best

yeah... i just dun like it oni.. coz i think omnia has its own strength even without iphone-killer's title.
*
yerp...thats i agree...but what to do, with iphone overhype all over the world, all phone manufacturers wanna use the oppurtunity to marketize their products as iphone killer...marketing strategy..
