Hi ericchan,

Are you in Singapore or Malaysia?

If the buyer is from Malaysia, does whymobile.com ship to Malaysia?

Well, just hoping you might be able to answer it. smile.gif

Thanks Seaedge and ericchan for the explanation. I missed the details. Maybe I will ask my Singaporean friends to buy for me, and bring to Malaysia. smile.gif But warranty will be a concern. sad.gif

ericchan,

How long can i900 battery last per full charge based on your usage?

Do you use GPS & A-GPS of the phone? Lock on time impressive?

When I think about it, I still need 16GB and if possible add another 16GB SD card (is this supported?).

Reason is I am planning to travel overseas in future and I own an SLR. Usually a RAW picture format is around 8 to 10MB, so I need as much storage space as possible in the PDA.

I think what you need is just more memory card for your DSLR. tongue.gif

So many people waiting for Omnia in Malaysia / Penang. Let's hope we can see it during PC fair 8-10 Aug, at PISA.

So Samsung Omnia does appear at PC Fair. So there's a good chance to hands on the Omnia at Penang PC fair next week. biggrin.gif

RM2799 (8GB) and RN2999 (16GB) is a bit steep. I think I will wait for the price to 'cooldown' a bit first. If Samsung wants to capture the local PDA phone market, the price has to be lower.

Ericchan already booked... wah... really exciting. drool.gif Do give us your review next week. Thanks.

Just want to get a confirmation from those who have ordered Omnia:

1. Does the standard pack come with TVO cable? Seem it's not standard packed at other places/countries.
2. Isn't Screen Protector supposed to be within the standard pack?

Something is wrong here... If Singapore is selling at SGD 960 (RM2279) for a 16GB Omnia, why in Malaysia we are getting at RM2999?

We are paying 31.6% higher for the same thing.

I am wondering what is Samsung's pricing strategy. It's just across the causeway between Malaysia and Singapore.

My suggestion, let's sit and wait until the price goes down nearer to Singapore price. If there is no volume, I wonder will Samsung do something with the Malaysia pricing to acheive the 15,000 unit per month volume!

tax ... er. ..y i have to pay tax ... alot of my frens buy from sg and bring back home and use .. no one said anything about tax ...

Peeky, you got it wrong. You no need to pay tax, but claim back the tax (GST) from Singapore government. It's 7% of the purchase price.

So if you are paying SGD 970 for your Omnia, you can get SGD 67.90 back from Singapore. So meaning, net net you only pay SGD 902.10 for your Omnia.

But of course, you need to meet the criteria of GST, i.e. the shop is a participating
retailer, you are a tourist (not Singaporean) etc...

Had my hands-on with both HTC Diamond and Samsung Omnia at Penang PC Fair, for a few minutes.

First impression: Diamond is good looking, small and seems compact. UI is nice, but some what lag. When I ask the sales person, he said the ROM of the test unit is older version. The retail units have updated the firmware, and should perform better. Currently the price has dropped to RM2599, with free gifts.

First impression: Omnia is bigger/longer than Diamond, bigger screen. UI not as beautiful as Diamond but some what faster in respond. The build feels good. Tested the "Samsung Keyboard" to type an email, the keyboard is bigger enough for thumb operation (well, I don't have big fingers). However the test units is lack of a few things, no movies to watch, haptic function not working. Selling at 8GB RM2799 and 16GB RM2999.

I asked the SA at PDA Expert, which is better, Diamond or Omnia? His reply is Omnia, as expected. The reasons, more memory and memory expansion, bigger screen, faster processor.

BTW, HTC Cruise is currently at RM2299.

I'm so impressed with the the Omnia. Just bought mine in Penang PC Fair. But there's no stock there.....

I was expecting the stock to be ready stock when I purchased it.

Got to wait till this coming Wednesday or Thursday. Haih.
