Guys, need suggestion on choosing between the HTC Touch Diamond versus the Samsung Omnia. Coz I'm planning to get one to replace my lousy K700i handphones lol.

And btw, can these 2 phones support Blackberry connect ? Coz I use email quite heavy.

I went to PC fair and found that the Touch Diamond not that impressive and the advice I got from PDA Expert shop was to get this model. The screen of Diamond is small compared to Samsung Omnia. Omnia has better processing compared to Diamond.

Guys, anyone tested the new Samsung Omnia with Blackberry connect software ?

Coz I'm a heavy email user. Without the Blackberry I can't get some of my work done when customer require instant reply.

Can anyone confirm this ? And also is the GPS reception better than HTC Touch Diamond ?

I'm so impressed with the the Omnia. Just bought mine in Penang PC Fair. But there's no stock there.....

I was expecting the stock to be ready stock when I purchased it.

Got to wait till this coming Wednesday or Thursday. Haih.

Yea, I got it at standard price. If you pay by cash it will be cheaper for the 16GB ones. It's RM2939 for 16GB & RM2739 for 8GB ones (by cash)

If pay by card it will be the standard RM2799 & RM2999. I got mine with a free I-Tech Bluetooth headset + 2 Years Extended Warranty (it also comes with Mobisure 30 Days Free trial insurance). You can extend it from there if you want.

I sourced many places and theirs is the cheapest due to FMG only provides 18 months warranty, but they extend the warranty till 24 months which is quite worthwhile I think and also they are a chain stores and you can bring your PDA to any of their shops for repair in case of outstation.

You can try bargain with them and if the are desperate to get deal then you are lucky. You can try it and sometimes they might give you extra freebies just for the sake of closing the deal.

Damm it, I asked PDA Expert and they claimed they have an outlet in Penang. Now I know that they actually don't even have one here....

I felt that I was conned badly. Now calling to their HQ and get their people to clarify on this issue.

Apparently they are setting up an outlet in Penang soon in 2 to 3 months time. From the info I obtained, they have a temporary dealer which mediates all their dealings in Penang. So that at least ease my pains for running here and there to fix my phone.

I wonder their stock if it comes with the latest G4 firmware ....

Got my omnia yesterday night. Impressive. The battery charging looks cool and comes with the icon showing the full battery bar status.

Tested the camera and it comes handy and way better than the HTC Touch Diamond. But zooming in will cause pixelated pictures and not so sharp. I think this has got something to do with the software.

May I know how do I check for the phone firmware ? I saw my omnia comes with chinese input, does that mean it's already G4 fimware ?

Anywhere for me to get the omnia pouch & original car charger as well as PDA holder ? Paid mine for RM2900 with A-tech complete bluetooth headset kit with USB bluetooth module & software updates.

The battery life is amazing after heavy phone calls, playing around and smsing, the battery life can last till midnight without charging. Thanks to the automatic LCD screen off which saves battery consumption.

The GPS works great. The detection of satellite is quite fast as well. Impressive rclxms.gif

Will update when tested with more things.
