I don't think every FMG shops can do the upgrading. I've checked the FMG shop in The Garden and they advised me go to summit USJ.

It usually will take awhile for omnia to lock on to the satellites signal.and it will be even longer if you are indoor. If view all the satellites signal..tap on the signal bar on the left then choose GPS info...

Oh, apprently the shop have give me a locked version of Malsing Maps, I redownload free version of Malsing maps, upload to Garmin Folder, and problem solve.

Btw, does anyone knows how to disable my Omnia to auto connect to Mobile Operator Data Network (Such as 3G, Edge, or GPRS)? I discovered my Omnia have auto connect to Digi Edge for two hours while charging..damn!!! I think I will vomit blood when receive bill this month..

Finally can get the satellites, for first time use, XTRA ENABLE need to be enabled in Enhance GPS to accelerate the locating of satellites (data charges applied). But so far I encountered 1 time quite difficult to locate satellites, "Acquiring Satellites" for few minutes before successfully lock a satellite even i'm at outdoor. hmm.gif

for Omnia GPS to worked:
Tools > system > externa GPS setting
Programme port Com3
Hardware port Com 9 9600
access: checked manage GPS automatically (recommended)
With this setting the following programme was tested:

Agis , GMXT. BeelinGPS cacheNav,
1) GMXT programme you had to purchased the GMXT programme in microSD(www.semsons.com). plus it into the Omnia. It will worked for you. GMXT will autodetect you GPS, went to outdoor to get the fix. For first time just goto Enhaced GPS. checked the XTRA ENABLE, Tapped the XTRA Data download. Then it will accelerate the GPS fix. run the GMXT and waiting for it to acquire the satalite. with malsingmaps you can navegating to anyway you like from Singapore to Malaysia. Good luck.
2) Agis. Goto storage card. Looking for a file NAVFone_PPC_i900_05June08, run it . It will prompt you where to installed. Installed in storage card. Activated the licience. Tap the Navigation. Checked the autodetect box > OK. it will started to looking for GPSr inside the phone. the satelike will started blinking with pop up message Satelie not fix. Once fixed the satelite logo will changed into green. You can started the test drive now. Enjoy!

The External GPS in WM5 just a GPS. it was Called GPS manager. You have to configured it first. First you need to know which port is the hardware port. The programme port is the comm port for you to run many GPS programme concurently by connected to this port. I had tested MapKing, Que 2.9, visual GPS concurently with my Dopod 818pro more then a year ago. But in WM 6.1 it can only run one GPS programme at a time. It may me a bug on WM 6.1 or Samsung firmware error. It worked like the programme GPSgate or gpspoxy.

I haven't try MapKing before, but searching on the internet, GMXT interface and map looks much much more better than MapKing, personal preferences. cool2.gif

Added on August 23, 2008, 7:18 pmyeah... I want to get original Samsung car charger as well. How much the service center selling? Confirm original for RM29??
