Those who played MGO beta, how you register for konami ID? Theres no Malaysia in the drop down menu?

none of Malaysia IP managed to get pass MGO Beta test cuz of filtering bro...

better ask those who played Winning Eleven 2008 online bout the registration expererience.

they said they registered in the game and no country selection needed.

Just be sure you get the same region with your country (Region 3 for Asia)to play MGO.

cuz they will check your IP....

there wasnt any malaysia in the drop down when I tried registering. but I don't think we need to register for a KID for this MGO.

It's really subjective to compare like that, but let's see:

US Ltd Ed DMC4: RM320 (but i used coupons, so it was less. Regardless, we'll go with MSRP)
- Game
- Steelbook gamecase, with plastic sleeve that went over it. (Lucky ones got rare signed Steelbook cases.)
- Anime DVD: 4 episodes, Cut scenes, 2 previews/trailers
- Bonus DVD: Making of, Soundtrack (partial), Art Gallery, Wallpapers, Avatars/Icons.

Asian Special Ed MGS4: RM299 (estimate)
- Regular case + Game
- Cardboard Slipcase
- Bonus BD: Detailed Making of...

It's hardly a fair comparison, but can tell you that I was satisfied with the DMC4 Ltd Ed. The Steelbook case is very attractive and different from regular editions, and the bonuses seem substantial enough to warrant the price.

I'm not trying to make a mountain out of a molehill, but my issue now with MGS4's Asian Special Edition is that its current pricing does not seem to justify its value. Especially since other regions are getting more bang outta their buck than we seem to be...

The thing is, I think the game region has nothing to do with the Konami ID since PS3 games are TECHNICALLY region FREE
So if
Konami ID = Malaysia + IP address= Malaysia
regardless of region of game

Thats just what i think...

Which is exactly why im planning to get R1 now. The problem is only MGO now... Should i take a chance??

not only malaysia,

Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan which have PS3 officially launched also not in the list .

by the way, i didn't expect much from LE/SE from the very beginning.
so LE/SE for Msia official launching=Game+"Making of..." BD is predictable

but! if the "making of" is bundled with DVD instead of BD, even the guy like me with low expectation also got pissed off.

just don't tell me LE/SE comes with DVD, please...

but... I'm just gonna get the normal edition after all. LE/SE stays with lucky draw.

Again, to clarify/reiterate: I think the fault here lies with Konami, not anyone at TecAsia or whatever. It's all really moot at this point; the only thing we as consumers can do is to ask (read: ASK, not demand) for is a slight price reduction to something more reasonable for the 'Special Edition'.

actually this IS the 1st ever Asian version of MGS console game. previous MGS1,2,3 also don't have Asian version - those psp mgs games got lar.

nvm ler, i realised this game was really developed with a super-duper crazy budget , if konami need to overcharge abit to cover their development cost, not much we can do. inflasi everywhere

i doubt kojima productions will embark on another such hi-budget game for a very long long time. jpn publishers will mostly focus on small budget games on nintendo platform for these coming years.
