Hey guys, am thinking of getting this phone. Do you know if people sell the phone without the 8GB? As that'll probably reduce the price by like 100 bucks? What i want to ask is why this phone isn't doing so well, apparently, when GSMarena and mobile-review have given it such rave reviews?

QUOTE(andrekua @ Jan 3 2009, 09:03 AM) I thought some forumer are selling for RM1800 or slightly less. But well, that depends on stock availability as well. In fact, I seen somewhere (cant remember) and even SMS a guy that were selling two new N85 Zitron that he got as birthday gift. The price he wanna sell is RM1500 only but in the end, I still wanna wait till price drop till 1k or so. When do you think the price will drop to around 1k? Maybe when N97 launched? Or 5800 released?

Yea i'm also contemplating the 5800 over this. Not sure why..the touchscreen is nice, and the cheaper price.. but pay 300 more for 5mp and fm transmitter. I dunno..

As in camera? If talking about picture quality on display, the OLED screen makes the N85 much better. You can check out the mobile-review here: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-n85-en.shtml and the gsmarena review here: http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_n85-review-297.phpThis post has been edited by ITrocks: Jan 3 2009, 08:18 PM

Does anyone have useful tips for the N85, if i'm getting it as a new user? Do you have to hack it in order to use unsigned apps? What useful apps are there? I've downloaded a couple of themes already, so no biggy there.
Thanks in advance!

QUOTE(Alexdino @ Jan 7 2009, 11:13 PM) sorry to say that N85 still unhackable yet, so it only can use freeware so far. and you need to sign every application that you are going to use. Ahh that's a shame to hear. On my previous n82, i'd *ahemed* my n-gage and could play every game! Awesome stuff. I HOPE that we can still use garmin on it? Most themes available for the n85 on download sites are usually signed right? Should i perform the *#7320# soft reset the moment i get my phone? To prevent any certificate error from occurring?

That sucks! They look really ugly. It totally ruins the keypad in my view. I'd gladly pay more just for either none or just chinese wording. UGH.

I WAS going to get it, but with the Thai wording thingamabob, i'm going to reconsider. Paying 300-400 extra for warranty is over the top in my view, and unaffordable. Sigh. How problematic.

QUOTE(Alexdino @ Jan 9 2009, 08:06 PM) No Chinese support can be flash through firmware update the dealer should know how to do it. Or not just find a repair shop they will gladly flash it for you for a fee of Rm50 (i think) But first, you must make sure that your new phone firmware is the old one (10.045) by pressing *#0000# to check then you can flash to new firmware (11.047_APAC) with Chinese language support because i dont think FP2 firmware can be downgrade. when will this tread become V2.......... SP*M SP*M SP*M Hey dude, where did you manage to find AP set without thai? How much? I thought AP was only 1500-1600? Price increased?
