Christensen Up for Jumper Sequel

user posted image

With the Jumper DVD (read review) and Blu-ray Disc hitting stores Tuesday, star Hayden Christensen ("Star Wars" prequels) tells the Toronto Sun he's up for a sequel.

"We're talking about it," the 27-year-old Canadian actor said. "I know that they're having those conversations, I hear about them." So would he sign on again? "Oh yeah, and I think I probably will."

Liman originally planned a movie trilogy based on Steven Gould's novel. Liman spun out a liberal re-imagining of Gould's more personal story about child abuse, which had jumping as a metaphor for escape.

"It was set up to become that -- a trilogy -- if it did well," Christensen added. "And I think they're happy with how it did so they want to make another one. But I don't think they're rushing to get into production."

Jumper, made for about $85 million, earned a solid $221.4 million worldwide in theaters.

My girlfriend enjoyed it - me? Indifferent. Good date movie I suppose with a stunning Rachel Bilson.

To me it have an interesting concept, with all the paladin and the Juper.Sure it has a BIG difference with the book and now with the news that they can jump to other planets. But the execution for the movie is poor by Doug Liman.Fire him and pick someone else

Exactly.
The jumping sequences are real cool
But how they implement it into the fight was way too short.
The "only" memorable action was probably when Griffin do that triple jump effect punch thing!

I personally thought that the movie was a little boring with David jumping here and there. Yes, the jumping effect was interestingly awesome but the movie was only interesting when Griffin came into light. Anyway, is it true that in this sequence, they'll be able to jumpt to other planets? If it's true, I thought that's ridiculous.

if its gonna be jumping from one planet to the other then i think we can just forget this movie cause there's no such thing as jumping from planet to planet but it does makes sense jumping from place to place in one planet itself.

It's called fiction for a reason.

It would be a sequel to the previous story.
