A Business Law major is not necessarily an advantage in terms of future prospect.If you don't go to law school, you could join a law firm as a paralegal, but this is the non-legal grunt work that the lawyers don't want to do.Major in something else. How about Finance or Marketing? Then if you don't go to law school, you will have something more solid to start a working career.But back to the question,yes it is recognized but you wont go far with business law.
