I am currently taking 1st Year Law and by the time I finish my 3rd year Law I would be 29 years old. Do you think I should go for LPC then if I able to get through then I go BVC. By that time I will be 31 years old.

What do you think ? Which is more important LPC & BVC or Working Experience?

I heard from friends who did LPC that LPC Syllabus do learn about Accounts, Client Account and Office Account.

Is it true?

Hey, I am a student in Brickfield Asia College and Part-time Working in a legal Firm. Currently, I am taking a law degree for University of Northumbia 1+2. They let me take up LLB because my entry requirement is Mature Student age 27 and with a standard degree from La Trobe University, Melbourne and approve by LAN. In the Past, After my SPM went straight to Business Foundation in Inti then went to Nilai for my Business Management Degree.

A confuse student.

The Question is am I able to take up CLP without taking A-Level's.

Am I able to be call to the BAR without A'Level's.

Base on my understanding that a mature student and LLB Degree already enough to qualify to take CLP exam and call to the BAR.

I have ask the coordinator and lecturer, They said ok. I went to get a copy of CLP form stated the entry requirements:

1) Candidates must have minimum 4 credits (including English) for their SPM or Equivalent exam (UEC, GCE'O' Levels and School Certifcate Exam. In Australia, SC Exam in New Zealand and
2) 2 STPM / A Levels principal passes or equivalent in one sitting and
3)Law degree (Min. 12 subjects with 6 core subjects that include Contract, Torts, Constituitional, Criminal, Land, Equity and Trusts.)
-LLB London External

I got the 1), 2) and 3) which I qualify for CLP. The 2) I don't have A Levels but I got a Australia Degree approved by LAN. The word "Equivalent" allows me to qualify.

Thanks alsree786,

I still need to go and find out with Malaysia BAR and some more lecturers. Many of my part-time class mate age 30++, 40++ and 50++ don't have A'Levels or STPM. I ask them already and they told me as long you come in as mature study for LLB and pass then can go straight to CLP. but that is for Northumbia only. That's make me fee secure with lecture tell me is ok by telling me I can take CLP and my classmate no A'Levels. Like that many would kena.

Hello Guys,

I am part timer for law student at brickfield. I got a question to ask you and hope you all can help me with it.

My SPM english I got 5C and obviously I need to take another course call IELTS inorder me to get into UK to study for my 3rd year Law.

Does anyone know where is the nearest institute to take up this course and I am from Seremban? Does Nilai have any Institute?

Prefer cheap fees.

Conveyancing lawyers are a cut throat breed, and basically in the business of selling paper

Like that do it yourself when each time you need a lawyer to do a transaction of property.

Oh I see. You can try Shook Lin & Bok. Just 2 weeks attachment is enough for you to gain fruitful experience. Good Luck for your SPMĀ  biggrin.gif

Shook Lin & Bok is it a good place to chamber? How fruitful is it? Except Good Result what else?

Skrine & Co, Lee Hishamudin, Soo Tien Ming and Shook Lin & Bok. These are the big firm I heard before.

Except Good Result, what else I need to have to compete against so many student to enter these firms.

Going through career fair is one of the best method to know more about the firm.

Great! I found an answer. Does law firm attend career fair like other company too? Doubtful with it. Mind showing me direction.

What makes a good firm does not necessarily equate to that firm being a good place for your pupillage...
*
Such answer will put back the question mark to the law student. smile.gif

After thinking and asking my sister, a good place for pupillage is having a good master and working with in house lawyers who able to answer your question during the 9 months chambering.

Sharing. biggrin.gif
