lower courts, mostly yes (if not all), higher courts, the judges at times allow english, some of em actually prefer english. but you need decent bm whatever it is...

QUOTE(komando67 @ Jul 7 2009, 10:08 AM)
Of course in litigation at court, we use BM as official language. But then some judges allowing some word to be used in english. As long ur presentation majority is in malay.tq

Very contradicting statements we have here anyway thanks for clearing up my question i should brush up my bm .

You should consult the lecturer's who should provide you some clearance on whether the duration of the time will be shorter .

i read in the newspaper recently, i think on sun where there was an article abt the malay language in courts ler..if i'm not mistaken, 30% of them still converse in malay and they r still doing so despite the hardship in translating those legal terms in malay since some of them r hard or they just use back the same words but different spelling kua lol smile.gif

not so sure for litigation since i'm currently in the conveyancing line xD
Good question. I'm a BAC student since donkey years also still never approve or i dunno how to go in also lol..keep clicking also dunno get what kind of msg.
Hmm, what u mean but the timetable and lecture time very short? o_O dun really understand ur Q.
From what understand regarding ur Q is that the duration for classes is too short but u r asking whether can finish earlier? a bit the contradicting rite? xD or izzit that u meant by the duration of the course is too short of 1 1/2yrs? or can it be shorter ie. 1yr? sleep.gif

U gotta clarify ur question before any of us can answer it. rclxub.gif

that is why i ask the fellow forumer to consult their lecturers and if still confusing consult the person who is control of their program which is in the 2f of BAC .Having trouble getting there ? just take the elevator up from the Ground floor up to the 2nd floor and once it is open you will see two pathway's on your left hand you will enter the premise which leads you to the admin office and the receptionist and on the other hand which is right you can use the stairs to maneuver self around the college .YOU Cant miss the receptionist .... except if she is on a coffee break or you have arrive at 8.00 am.

lol..i dun c where r u getting at? y r u telling me the directions or whatever to inquire info from? i'm not the one who is seeking for answers..btw, a forum is not only for asking questions but also to join in the chatrooms or discussions as such. So ur "explanation" doesn't do any good either.
lol..in the beginning u'll get that feeling, once u r settled in and there would be more revisions and extra classes i guess. This is not like SAM where everyday u have classes just like back in high school doh.gif

Hmm, i have no idea...someone else would explain it better to u. Although this Q has been asked few times already in the forum but not particularly in this thread.

I had just completed my SPM Exam on the last December and I am waiting for my result nw ...
I plan to do Law but I don't know is STPM better or A level better ?
I heard that STPM is very hard...
Can you give me some advices about pre u studies ?
Which private college is better ?
ATC or BAC ?
I really very confused nw ...
Is the law degree frm MMU recognised in SG ?
And what is the differences between the law degree that offer in MMU and ATC or BAC ?
Is the CLP exam very hard to pass ?
How to pratice law in SG ?
Thanks ~ smile.gif

My advice think and think again before taking law it is not an easy course because once you start the ball rolling you got to commit all you got to it . Why limit yourself to only two private colleges ? Atc or Bac there is other institution which provide better classes and facilities such as help college and taylors college .Do not be fool by goodies and words such as " BAC lies in the heart of kl sentral and it is easily accessible by LRT " that doesn't mean the institution will provide you great service probably in terms of commuting yes it is accessible but in other things it is still lacking .

Let me spill the beans for you just take for example BAC the institutions lack of a counselling office , lacking textbook material that are needed to cover substantial subjects from all these you will be busy pulling your hair out of frustration instead of studying and that is only few of the problems that you MAY encounter.Besides that , you question the difference between Mmu and ATC or Bac ?

Well let me tell you what I know ATC and BAC provide the same law degree well there is a great similarity as both have UK transfer programme and a External programme (UOL). Here is the crucial part while signing up for the Uk programme you will be encountering most of the time assignments and some presentations which is in a way will play a part in your exams in which probably if you do score in these assignments given will make a difference in your final from a B to a D .Unlike the UOL you will be guided and instructed closely with the lecturers compared to the UOL programme which requires you to do a lot of self studying there will be no assignments and minor tests to help you in your exam although you will be assisted by the UOL as they provide you in terms of text book , study packs and finally statutes .

Since you are a fresh graduate I suggest you scout around for every course that is available and then finally make a choice but If you still insist that law is the solely course for you carry on . About mmu law degree ? you should give this post a visit first http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/600496?author=david890701 and from what I can see it is mainly recognise LOCALLY .Most of all give mmu a call or a visit they have two branches and that consist of cyberjaya and melaka.

If you have problem either in deciding the course that you are interested for, I suggest taking a career test which is easily available at Taylors and Help it will help you to pinpoint your interest in areas that you are keen in and hopefully from there you are able to see what area of interest you are interested in. Well not only will the result be available for you they have counsellors to even help you give some advice on the subject matter .

Sincerely from a first year uol student .

Thanks for your advices,Laguna...
It really gives me a helping hand in choosing college ...
Frankly speaking...
I don't have a rich family background...
So I heard that BAC and ATC are the colleges that offer LLB (UOL) and the fees are affordable,so I did'nt even think about Taylor and HELP.
I had check that their fees are quite expensive nad I don't think my family can afford it,so I just hope that I can enter either ATC and BAC...
But,never mind thanks for your advices again ...
Ya.. I had read about the post that about MMU,although their degree is only recognise in Malaysia and commanwealth country, but the student who graduated from MMU is exempted from CLP exam, this is the latest news that I get from the counsellor of MMU and I think it is truth. This is a very big advantage because the CLP exam is very hard to pass ....
Yea,I had taken the career test...
My result showed that the area I interested is either law or business ...
Haha...
It is quite accurate !!!
Erm...
Which college are u studying ?
*
I am currently studying in BAC^^ anyway if you think that law is your choice then go ahead and about financial problem youcan take ptptn loan for both programs either UOL or Uk transfer .Honestly UOL is challenging but if you persist and keep going you will finally reach there .
