hi. am so confused.
i receive an offer to study ASASI UNDANG-UNDANG in UITM Shah Alam.
Is it qualified? How's the job prospect?
thanks.
*
what do you mean by "is it qualified?"
There's no job prospect for Asasi ^^"
That's just a foundation programme that will allow you to enter UiTM's Law Degree if you score good enough.

Hi guys, first and foremost I would like to thank for the information in this thread. I have just graduated as an IB Diploma student and very interested to go for law in Australia for my undergraduate degree. As it is said on first page, in order to sit for the CLP examination in Malaysia after graduation, SPM and STPM qualifications or equivalent are required. However, since I left Malaysia 4 years ago and just graduated from an American-syallbus international school 1 month ago, I had never taken SPM or it's equivalent such as O-levels. Meanwhile, I am unsure whether or not my IB Diploma is considered as an equivalent for STPM or A-levels, although in most universities it should be. Does that mean I've failed to meet the pre-conditions and hence will not be eligible for the CLP examination after I graduate? If so, is there other ways for me to take the CLP exam in the future? I apologise if any of the questions above have been asked before. Any advise is welcome.

Thanks in advance!

According to the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). The International Baccalaureate Diploma is an equivalent to STPM/A-Levels.

So their SPM equivalent should be Grade 12 I guess?
Here's the Full list of SPM and STPM Equivalents as determined by the MQA

Just because other institutions etc accept them as equivalent does not necessarily mean the LPQB does as well. Better get it directly from the horse's mouth. You don't want to risk putting in all the effort and sacrifice into getting an LLB, only to find the LPQB doesn't recognise SPM/STPM equivalents.

I think he said he asked his relative that works as an agent to contact LPQB to clarify

Guys, IELTs you can take it at the British Council Malaysia. It is a very simple test just to make sure you can follow basic English and communicate enough to get you by. But I think you need to score at least a 7 or 6.5 out of 9 for British Uni?

a 6.5 or 7 overall is not hard to achieve really.

Most unis will usually want a minimum of 6.0 or 6.5 overall for most courses and usually the requirement will be a bit higher for Law maybe a 7.0 or something then would probably ask for a minimum 6.5 or something for writing.

I've found that not too much of people mentioning Nirwana college for its Pre Law A Level which only take 9 month to complete. Does it mean it was unpopular and the lecturer was kinda bad compared to other college ?
*
that's a difficult thing you know, A-Levels in the UK are done throughout two years and in Malaysia people usually do it in 1.5 years and doing it in such a short time + doing AS and A2 at the same time will be difficult

it's absolutely not needed to get in a law degree since it's not a pre-requisite.

I thought pre university doesn't affect anything as long as the degree you take is recognized by bar council? I might be wrong though....Not too sure about this...

you need to hold STPM/A-Level or an equivalent qualification that you used to gain admission into the law degree in order to sit for CLP.
