hi i'm considering studying law..
i'm good in english and reading and writing but i'm doubtful bout my choice in studying law because i'm a very shy person and i don't like to argue.
so oral is not my strong point..

any advice on what skills the person should have when taking up a law degree?
anyone planning to study law at taylors or help??
*
It doesnt mean you have to excellent in arguing to read law .
But, you should not be weak in oral though .

You will need reading skill, writing skill, analysing skill and memorising skill .

yes, recognised as law degree if u pass CLP, if not, JPA will consider it as normal degree from IPTA. as compare to LLB london ext. this course is cheaper. but the only drawback (some consider as advantage) is u need to answer in BM (FULLY!! CANNOT CAMPUR).  smile.gif oh btw, u can answer CLP in BM as well.

Really? All in Malay ???

can apply UM with A-levels?
anyway, if UM accepts you so you going to UM?
*
Yes , i only knew this recently just right before the dateline of the application .
UM accepts A-levels now but of course the chances is understandably slim .

If UM accepts me , i will read law in UM which then i do not need to take CLP after i graduated .

BOJ is recognised by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam as a general degree from IPTA. If u pass your CLP, your BOJ will be consider as LLB from IPTA. http://www.interactive.jpa.gov.my/webinter...102&strID=24343

it is cheaper than LLB UOLondon hence can save u a lot of money..

u can self study if u do not want to attend tuition, UM will provide u with a detail outline for each subject u take and u can access to UM law library.

but the only DRAWBACK is u need to answer ALL THE EXAM QUESTIONS IN BAHASA MALAYSIA. (haha but for some it is an advantage)  btw u can answer CLP in BM as well, so no worry.

if u need further info just PM me

Added on March 19, 2009, 8:56 am

yes, don believe u can check with um..

Added on March 19, 2009, 8:58 am

true... but for their BOJ (ext) the students have to answer fully in BM... how unfair...
*
You are currently studying in UM ? BoJ or LLB ?

QUOTE(toux @ Mar 21 2009, 01:00 AM)
Is King's College ranked higher than Cardiff, or say, any of the unis offered by HELP UK transfer degree?

And does ATC give King's Col scholarship to their top students?
*
King's College ranked higher than Cardiff , but , both are still doing great in law.

HELP UK transfer program offers about 10 university i guess which included University of Manchester, University of Sheffield, University of Liverpool, University of Exeter,University of Leeds, Cardiff University , Northumbria University and others.

You shall check out HELP UC's website.

To be exact , it's Kings College itself award the scholarship for those who score highest in intermediate level of UOL LLB External Exam . As long as ones scored the highest , ones might be awarded that scholarship. So, please dont misunderstand. For example , last yr , Brickfields Asia College produced a top student and he got the scholarship. Not necessarily to be ATC but might be other institution as long as they produce a top student in the world.

I got 3 principal passes for my STPM. It is enough to study LLB in private university? I had apply for MMU but since now they are still not yet exempted CLP. What do you guys think?Should I go for private or MMU?
*
Well, 3 passes is more than enough.
Another thing , MMU is one of the private University , it requires a CCC for their LLB program . If you do have it , you may apply.
I dont think MMU is a wise choice for LLB if you intend to practice since it takes another 9 months for CLP .Please be noted that MMU LLB takes 4 years. Why dont you just do your LLB in 3 years in other institution and do your CLP ?

I think Business Studies is a good choice. Well, you can just take a look at the syllabus of that subject. See whether you think it suits you or not.

You can get it from http://cie.org.uk .

problem questions? were there problem questions in PL?

@ jhong

relax la. it's your first class. if u still find it difficult when you've finished your syllabus in march, then u are 'entitled' to get worried. i found PL easy...
*
Erm...had PL today, the lecturer didnt really start the first chapter but just giving us a brief outline on whats PL is.
From what my lecturer said , we need to understand clearly on every chapter in PL as all of the topic links to each other.

I think it is quite similar with English Legal System .

for me personally, public law and english legal system is quite different..
english legal system is easier to spot question, and u can concentrate on certain topics..
but public law is the opposite.. u need to study everythin.. cos every chapter is interrelated..
i find public law interesting and els boring.. tongue.gif
*
I think you are right since i just started my class today and you have studied it .
Well, how interesting is PL ?
