Hi there, do you think studying law in local universities is better than doing law in UOL programmes? Since CLP is hard to get..
*
Define " better "

If you mean better in the sense that you dont have to take CLP, then it's better laugh.gif
However, if you mean QUALITY wise, definitely the UOL programme stand out.

If you have the money, why not go for UOL and take UK Bar...You still can avoid taking CLP..... biggrin.gif

Hi, just wondering if UOL external programme would be allowed to take UK bar? or it's only for those who are doing transfer programme? if yes, how ? Thanks.
*
Yes, you are allowed to. I am not sure about the detail of how to apply for that. Google search might do you the favour though.

The express route might not be a smart choice if you ask me. It takes a lot of effort and time if you want to did well. I have been through that myself.

Even taking only 2 subjects for A Levels express route is tough ? sad.gif

Oh 2 subs? Hmmm,I thought taking 2 subjects is a bit risky? If you fail one, then opps, the whole thing just gone and you have to start all over again.

3 subs might be a better choice....

How hard is it for someone with mediocre A-Level grades (not 3A's type) to get at least a 2:2 in a law degree?
*
It's possible so long as you put in adequate efforts and time into your degree.

The only way is to apply for exemption from the Ministry of Law. But they have a record of not granting it to UOL external LLB holders.
Neither is your friend in better position since Hertfordshire is not on the list of recognised universities and it is not a terribly good university.
But it is worth a shot if you have outstanding results and some experience in practice. Otherwise chances are very slim.
*
Thought these days they only recognized their own production of lawyers from NUS? Hardly hear any exemption anymore, no? I might be wrong though.

hello all, I've currently finished my first semester of A Levels in Segi College Sarawak. I plan to enter the UOL LLB program in SEGi as well. I heard that the my batch will take the exams in June 2013 and then the intake for the LLB will be in August 2013 if everything goes well. My question is does the first year of LLB starts in that August 2013 or Jan 2014 ?

Btw, can anyone recommend any good websites that has A quality llb essays ?? tq
*
Of all colleges, why Segi? There are tonnes of better colleges out there. I haven't hear any good review thus far regarding the law degree they offered.

Also, it is possible for UOL students to transfer to unis in UK for 2nd and 3rd year.
But it is not possible to transfer from UK Transfer Programme to UOL external.

UOL external exams are relatively more difficult compared to UK Transfers.

This. To certain extent , I agree... A friend of mine used to be the average joe in class. Our path split when she chose to do UK Transfer to UWE. Her result has been average which she herself admitted but she ended up getting first class for her degree when graduated...and the rest doing UOL external...those we normally refer as "genius" or "pro" in the class ended up with second class upper. laugh.gif which came quite a shocker to most of us

Well, it happened few years back when we graduated. Not sure if it's still the same but most of us did think that UKT and UOL External sure got a little bit of difference! tongue.gif
