My turn for a progress post. It's a vid.
I'm pretty sure this was a 85KG triple. I don't stand for the first two reps because it's extremely draining and I had 4 sets of triples to do like this.

snatches.....very draining kay
And no of course you'll not be allowed to throw the bar like I do. First off these are Eleiko bars, and they're built to be thrown like this. And these are Eleiko bumper plates, the best bumpers in the world. And finally, this is an Olympic weightilfting platform, so it's built to absorb the impact, without destroying the bumpers or the floors. However, we do have a few spoiled ones, the 10KG ones as they're thinner and some of these idiots slam them. Thankfully the state sports body is buying another 3 sets which I hope won't get fcuked by them. I'll try getting a 101KG snatch video by March. HEEEE! That'll be a milestone. |

QUOTE(kurtkob78 @ Feb 28 2009, 06:48 AM) QUOTE(Syd G @ Feb 28 2009, 08:21 AM) She just answered you.If you're wondering... a weightlifter can be a powerlifter or a bodybuilder. A bb'er can be a powerlifter or a weightlifter. A powerlifter, can also be a bb'er or a weightlifter. It's not impossible. Only thing is that pl'ers and bb'ers, can have a hard time adjusting their flexibility level (especially rotator cuff) to the level required by weightlifting. And on the question of why I'm small...it's because I weigh 77KG'S and I'm 5'10". I'm underweight for my height. Besides that, I'm those guys that believe in athleticism. I feel our bodies were made to defend itself from harm. Thus to have a tremendously gigantic body but you can't even throw a punch, jump a meter, run, you're not flexible enough to twist and roll...you're about as useful as a fried popiah roll. I don't mind having size gains, but it will have to come from the activities I do that requires an increase in muscle mass to continue sustaining my improving performance. Taking that I squat 180KGs today. If my body just NEEDS an increase in muscle mass to hit 220KG'S, then I'll be happy to have an increase in calories and grow. If it doesn't need that increase, why the heck should I let it? MY body's not maximized it's CNS yet. Besides, it's far more impressive to see a 77KG'er clean and jerking 200KG'S than it is to see a 94KG'er, CNJ'ing 200KG'S. At 94KG, you're almost EXPECTED to CNJ 200KG. At 77, to CNJ 200KG'S an amazement. Why look strong, when you're weak? You'd be about as tasty as that lobster with no flesh. This post has been edited by pizzaboy: Mar 2 2009, 04:47 PM |

QUOTE(bata @ Mar 2 2009, 06:14 PM) so far away la your example. ahahah... Actually googled him, but can't seem to find him. Anyway, to be honest all these terms are interchangeable. the guy represent Malaysia for powerlifting (APC i think) is a bodybuilder. google Rosli Bahaman. but the guy is a beast la, also a commando...lol Chow In the past, you could be a weightlifter today and hitting your snatch PR and be posing on stage for a show in the next 3 days. They weren't all that anal about dryness and striations during those days. They just wanted to be healthy and strong and fit. They also trained in the same gym, so there wasn't much of a real big deal to be honest. The bodybuilders, will be doing their squats and benches at one corner while curling with a Olympic bar, while the weightlifters will be snatching or clean pulling away at the platforms. It's no big deal. I know such relations are still practiced by teams in Selangor (near Batu Caves) and the Terengganu guys. I saw them previously. They exchange tips as well. Each are truly respected. And to uhuk-uhuk, your opinions are true, like any other opinion. It boils down to our goals, and my goals are strongly rooted in strength and power. The only way I can accept gaining weight is if my weight is gained via a byproduct of strength. No disrespect to any man woman and child that trains hard to better themselves. Nobody can. |
