i just bought a n82 last week ... i am very disappointed with the so call " 5MP, Carlz Zeiss Optic, Xenon Flash" camera.
my previous phone which is 7390 has better imaging quality in my opinion and that was only 3MP.

anyone else has this same feeling as me ?

no. my feeling is that you have to learn how to use the functions in the camera.

due to that the n82 have 5mp, therefore the picture will appear way larger compare to 3mp. and so there will be more details on the picture either. so a little blurring/out of focus etc will seems more obvious on 5mp compare to 3mp.

this is 1st time i read about an owner who disappointed with n82 5mpx camera shocking.gif ....( if k850 normal edi laugh.gif tongue.gif )
if many peoples and professional juries (n82 win camera phone award) agree this n82 one of the best 5mpx camera phone out there, then if u happen to obtained poor pics, either the problem lies on ur skills or ur phone hv some defect
if ur phone defect, better send it back/repair or if ur phone in good/excellent condition, then u might practice more in order to obtained nice pics...u can ask other forumers in n82's thread n share ur experience....sharing is caring...sure a lot forumers will help u...
good luck bro icon_rolleyes.gif

Can you show us the photo that disappointed you from the N82?
Most people said the N82 can capture very good photos.

well, by far, i am never disappointed with n82's imaging capability but in the same time, i am surprised that 7390 can take good shots and the colour is actually more vibrant than n82. but i wouldnt say n82 couldnt do it, you just need abit of tweaking, maybe on ISO/exposure/WB..

however, if u would have notice... 7390 noise reduction is lesser than n82 and there is slight fringing if u see clearly at 7390's pics. so at zoom, n82 is actually displaying more details compare with 7390.

i am not pro photographer... but this is slightly what i learn during cameraphone snapping... smile.gif

or if u wanted to compare, go to cameraphone gallery.. there is tons of photos you can compare. smile.gif

so far the pics i took all using AUTO setting
i should try adjustign the WB and Light Sensitivity..

but comparing those pics .. 7390 pics has much brighter colour compared to n82

Why not you try use both phones and take pictures of the same environment or object? Do tat for multi-colored background or lighting. Like tat you will get a better comparison between two cameras. icon_idea.gif

you cant compare camera performance like that.
time, weather(lighting), shooting angle and a lot more factors can make your picture look different.

here's picture thread for N82

bro ..ur talking about color izzit that ur not satisfied with?
this is due to the image processor in the phone it self..
in the other nokia u have which is nokia 7390...if u try n zoom in and see the detail..u'll see that the phone had done some touch up itself..in photography that sux... due to fake...but it is much better to the eye..
what u see in nokia N82 is much better picture actually juz the color that picture ur taking aint poping out/as vibrant as ur other phone..
N82 is the cam phone that is almost to a digi cam if u know how to handle it wink.gif

Dont entirely remember where i read this but apparently n82 sacrifices on color vibrance by under-exposing your pictures.. in return you retain more detail and clarity
im very satisfied with mine.. no complaints about the picture quality.. it all boils down to a lot of settings and a very steady hand.. minimizing use of zoom helps big time

I think the main thing is the focus, if you have a high pixel camera but unable to capture the best focus, its much useless as pictures might turn out blur.

herzelaid,

any real camera that falls in your hand will not have good picture if you cannot even master the N82 simple options......

i have used p1i-camera sucks, 6120C-camera sucks, lumix fx7-still lose to N82.

i very agree... (but not sure for the fx7 though sweat.gif)
camera is something need to explore instead of using just automode. no doubt it is PnS camera, but the setting gives very much differences. Even my father now (using n82) is playing setting in ISO and exposure after i show him the differences between them. each might not show much difference in mobile lcd, but in pc lcd, there will be difference.

besides, like what previously said, all time, wheather, lighting condition can affect every photo's effect and quality. smile.gif

smile.gif 1st one is using n95 8gb with macro. and the 2 others is the infamous iMobile 902.

actually we can give u as many tips as we can.. but the thing you must do is to learn and become a camwhore. when i got my 902, n95 8gb, viewty or k850i, i keep snapping photo with different settings and WB. study each setting's differences. then learn to use the environment to help you to get better effect. but nothing beats the practices makes perfect motto.

QUOTE(lucaswjk)

nope.. not master... and better yet, not even n82. smile.gif i dun like n82 due to design and keypad.

Added on June 11, 2008, 1:36 amoh yeah... dun think you cen get the best pic from just one pics... sometimes... sequence snap and multi snap with diff angle also can see the difference.

and as avenger said, dont rely on flash unless necessary.

N82 wins most phone because of its specs, not mainly because of its camera. The pictures produced by the camera as usual la having typical carl zeiss noise like N73. Very easy to differentiate which picture is taken by N82. Anyway, all camera phone snap already and view at 100% sure can see the noise except Imobile902. Still none of the camera in market beats Imobile902 yet if speaking of Hand to Hand challenge on Camera only.
