if you are purely gaming, then 40gb should be enough. I thought so too myself, but because of PS3s multimedia capabilities, can you fight the urge?

Am on 160gb myself, the hd movies, mp3s, pictures, games..too many, and still 30gbs free. Ah, welcome to PS3's community, where were game extremely hard as no pirated crap here.

just upgrading mine 40gb to 250gb.dem time consuming..replacing hdd just a piece of cake.backup 30min formatting hdd 15min restoring also 30min.had to delete few demos n game data when backing up coz takes about 1hour++ when trying to backup my ps3 for the 1st time..also never knew that i have to put system firmware into a pendrive to format my new hdd.what a hassle.

now all running smoothly.wahahhaaha

will upgrade for bigger space soon but not in the near future

im using seagate momentus bought from pcdepot(the only place that r really cheap at my place) rm 250++.

can we upgrade just like PC???
or we have to buy special hdd to upgrade???

just a question har... can u actually save a game into the hard disk? let's just say i rent and copy the game and play from the hd alone. does it work that way?

dayum... how about copying game bought from psn from another hd?

no, unless you are reffering to backup it. after back up, only your ps3 can play it, you cant play it on another ps3.
