Also, something about the BolehVPN public server. I joined it one time and my ping was over 100. That is not normal, considering I get a usual ping of 30+. However, when my friends joined, theirs were averaging 985 ping. That is just crazy, not to mention unplayable. We don't know why that is, but that's what it was. I should've taken a screenshot or something. Then just yesterday, my [Zouk] buddies and I joined but our pings were normal.
Just thought I'd put it out there.

As our server is hosted in TM Cyberjaya, when TM messes their routing, we tend to be affected too. This is not a problem with a misconfiguration of our server or anything. In fact we are in a priority section.
As you note lately, international connectivity has also been patchy with Streamyx hence the fluctuating pings especially if they are from Singapore. This again is something to do with TM.
Being with TM gives us certain advantages and disadvantages. Advantage is that more often than not, Malaysians will get lower pings especially if they are on Streamyx in MOST scenarios. This is reflected when those in the Selangor/Klang valley region with the right IP range can even achieve pings of 6. Of course at times, even TM messes up their internal routing but this is more seldom as compared to Streamyx's connectivity to other ISP's datacentres such as Time/Jaring which is often messed up.
The disadvantage is that if TM f***s up their international routing, we also get affected. This is not a problem alone with TM but with other datacentres as well, just that lately TM has been pretty shitty.
For now we have the belief that my purpose is to promote Malaysian gaming and that my target audience are Malaysians, and since Malaysians are mostly on Streamyx, it makes the most sense to host it in a place where most of the time they will get better pings. Singapore players are a consideration of course but having it in Malaysia ensures that we can maintain it in a timely manner for any physical issues and also keep our running costs low as we OWN the server and not just rent it.
So all i'm saying is that give us a chance and when routing is ok again, do drop by. For Malaysians this shouldn't even be an issue. I'm just airing out my explanations in the hope that we are not in control of every single thing and are resistant to just taking the easy way out and hosting it in Singapore or whatever works at the moment.
